This unforgettable apartment promises a wonderful stay. Enter the door to the bright, open, and colorful living area. Featuring three distinct areas -- a den, kitchen, and dining area -- this open-concept living area is a wonderful place to relax and step back in time, with modern comforts, of course. The sun-filled den invites you to lounge while you listen to a record from our fireplace collection, read a book, or watch your favorite shows on Netflix, Disney +, or Hulu (all included). Hungry? Step over into the fully-stocked kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is playful and cheery, delightfully 70s with decor, but decidedly modern with its new, stainless steel appliances. It boasts everything you would need to cook a formal meal or a quick snack. Enjoy your creation at the vintage dining room table, specially sourced for the space, complete with fun swivel chairs, which will take you back to your childhood in an instant. Want a drink? Pull up to the custom bar, perfectly situated between the kitchen and living room.

Off the living area, you'll find a hallway, which leads to the two bedrooms and bathroom. The first bedroom is a dream for a kid of any age. Custom, colorful, built-in bunk beds are fun and wickedly comfortable. With two full-sized, memory foam mattresses and silky smooth Comphy sheets, your guests will sleep like a dream, and a sturdy ladder provides easy access to the top for guests, big and small. Next door, the master bedroom features a queen-sized bed with a dreamy memory foam mattress and luscious sheets and pillows. A second TV makes it easy to sneak away and catch up on your favorites.

Across the hall, you'll find the full bathroom. Soak away your stresses in the carefully restored cast iron tub. Or, enjoy a shower using our organic, paraben- and cruelty-free shampoo, body wash, and conditioner. The large, antique vanity gives you plenty of space to spread out, and the built-in storage closet is perfect for any extra toiletries you may have.

Don't miss the best part -- the spacious, private balcony, complete with your own hammock chair and two lounge chairs. A perfect perch for morning yoga or to take in a beautiful sunset. Of course, you'll also get to enjoy all of the great outdoor amenities of Eden Brae -- the gardens, fountains, fire pit, screened outdoor dining room, grill, hammocks, corn hole set, and foosball. Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the gated grounds of the property, which include a screened outdoor dining room and a natural gas grill, as well as hammocks and gardens.

The Neighborhood:
Eden Brae is on Cliff Road, between the popular neighborhoods of Forest Park and Highland Park. While you are with us, be sure to venture out into the neighborhood. Just a few blocks away, you will find parks, restaurants, coffee, golf, and tennis!

Highland Park Golf and Tennis Club is just a block away. Open to the public, it is very easy to play a round of golf or a game of tennis during your stay. With amazing course conditions and incredible views of the city skyline, the Highland Park golf course is beloved by locals and visitors alike. Play 9- or 18- holes or enjoy the driving range. Tee times are easy to book online, in person, or by phone. If tennis is your sport, you are in luck. The Highland Park Racquet Club is next door and easy to access. Clay courts and hard courts are available for single or doubles play.

If you are in the mood for something more relaxed, the church around the corner has a beautiful public stone meditation path. Rushton Park, one of the three parks lining Highland Avenue, is just a couple of blocks away. A favorite among locals, it's a wonderful place to enjoy a pretty day. If you are traveling with kids, you will love Rushton Park's gated playground. Or, if you are in for something more active, try the park's basketball or volleyball court. Just outside the park, you will find a few popular local eateries. In the mood for a coffee or pastries, try O'Henry's. Or, stroll next door to Rojo, a popular Mexican restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. It's dog friendly and regularly features live music and entertainment.

On the other side of Highland Park Golf Course, you will find Forest Park, which is home to a couple of cute restaurants and shops. Walk a few blocks further to enjoy the beautiful park, brewery, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and stores in Avondale.

Getting Around:
Eden Brae is just a couple of miles from most of Birmingham's most popular attractions: Railroad Park, the Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Avondale, Sloss Furnace, the Art Museum, Regions Field, Vulcan Park, and Downtown's Entertainment and Civil Rights Districts. All are easily accessibly by bike or by car/Lyft/Uber.

Beautiful Property

The amenaties were great. The apartment was beautiful and retro. Super cool. My only complaint is while it was expected to take a while for the water in the shower to get hot, once it did, it would only stay hot for about 4 minutes then it would go to tap cold for 5 or so minutes, then heat back up for another 4 minutes. I couldn't deal with it. I barely got to get everything done in the shower before giving up and getting out. It was very disappointing.

Great spot!

We loved the house and our quick overnight stay. It was exactly as we expected, parking was super easy and the location was perfect for us! Our kiddo loved the grounds, playing foosball and hanging on the porch in a swing. Loved the eco consciousness of the owners as well. We would definitely stay again!

Southern charm and affordable

There of us stayed for a quick weekend. Location was awesome. Very close to two different areas with great restaurants and shopping. Very close to the zoo and botanical gardens. The property is beautiful and the mansion seems to be well kept. Remember though, it it is an old house, so things creak and crack. Loved the theme in the apartment we stayed in. The neighborhood was quiet. I enjoyed the morning sitting on the patio or downstairs in the common area screened in bench area. No problems checking in or out. Would love to stay again, even for a night. Everything was comfortable and honestly priced just right, more room for your buck compared to local hotel rates.

Perfect Location

We enjoyed our stay at Eden Brae. The location was central to everything. The unit was cleverly decorated in a 70’s design. It was clean and well stocked. We saw lots of neighborhood people out when we walked the dogs so it felt safe. As a plant lover, I was sad to see the plants in our unit were dead and the yard needed a little care. Two of the three fountains were not working. Overall a good stay and we would stay again.

Birmingham cool!

We stayed here on our first visit to Birmingham and the apartment was a perfect find! The tree-top porch was peaceful and comfortable. The retro-styled interior made for a fun stay. Bed was very comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked. A bit of patience required for arrival of hot water to shower. We wished we'd had time to take advantage of the inviting outdoor grill and dining area. Overall, loved it and enjoyed the hilly and architecturally interesting (and safe) neighborhood!

Perfect Location, Dream Backyard, Clean, Adorably decorated. Lots of extra touches...fresh ground coffee, 8+ different teas and lots of soaps, sanitizers, shampoo etc... This is a second floor unit...extra quiet with a great porch with hammock chair to enjoy our morning coffee. No negatives.

Perfect!

We live about 7 hours from my daughter and her family, so this was a perfect place to be able to meet up and just be able to relax, as if he would at our homes. Everything you could possibly need is in the apartment and the furnishings are comfortable and welcoming. Not only have we established this as our meetup place when our schedules allow, we are hoping to rent the whole house at some point for a whole family holiday!
