Private, sunny, waterfront retreat - Bay of Fires

  • 'The Edge' is situated in Binalong Bay, right in the heart of the stunning Bay of Fires conservation area on Tasmania's East coast. A quiet peaceful retreat, it sits right on the edge of the tranquil Grants lagoon and a lovely lagoon-side walk takes you to the beaches the area is famous for. The open plan space is warm and bright, receiving all day sun. Beautiful views over the water and surrounded by a large sundeck and a semi tropical garden - The Edge is a perfect place to relax and unwind.

    The whole property is yours to enjoy. The open plan studio is fresh, warm and inviting, furnished with many hand crafted Tasmanian made pieces.
    It features a Tasmanian oak king size bed, and a large leather couch, both enjoy views over the lagoon. The deck has a dining table, comfy chairs and a sun lounge, perfect to enjoy a drink as you watch the sun go down. There is a full size kitchen with a range of BBQ facilities for cooking up special dinners.

    Grants Lagoon is a beautiful peaceful waterway, wonderful for swimming, paddling, fishing and watching the numerous bird species that call it home. The Edge is one of only half a dozen homes lucky enough to have the lagoon only 20 paces from its front door and is away from the road and the more built up area of Binalong Bay. There is a pretty walking trail along the lagoon for a relaxing stroll to the Beach and town. The village is mostly made up of holiday homes, the two main businesses are the Bay of fires Eco boat tours (highly recommended) and the new Meresta cafe restaurant- serving excellent coffee and a changing menu of beautiful local produce and their own wood fired pizzas and breads.

We love our stay at Claire and Abel place. Great location for long hike from the house around the beaches to Skeleton Bay walking trek.

Perfect Getaway

Enjoyed three wonderful nights at this peaceful location. Despite cooler weather we were able to explore Grants Lagoon and the surrounding amazing beaches of the Bay of Fires. Travel to St Helens and surrounding attractions was easy. The Edge is modern, clean, well maintained and comfortable.

Peaceful sanctuary away from it all

We had a Fab Four nights at The Edge exploring The Bay of Fires area. The location is superb, very peaceful and the perfect spot to do some photography of the breathtaking Bay of Fires. The hosts Claire and Abel have a stack of equipment for exploring… kayak, bikes etc. which is great. We also appreciated the little touches like nice teabags and provisions in the fridge etc. It made it all like a home away from home. Would not hesitate to recommend this cosy hideaway to any couple. Or small family, would definitely stay there again.

Fabulous for couples, beautiful outlook. Directly across from easy access for kayaking, kayaks provided for use. Great deck with BBQ & chairs to take in the views & enjoy a drink or morning coffee. Coffee & Tea provisions & other kitchen basics if you needed, easy check-in access, lovely & clean. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay Thankyou Claire & Abel 😊

Beautiful Hideaway

What a little GEM. Perfect spot for a couple to hide away. For gorgeous tranquil view over the Lagoon. Super private And quiet. Lots of lovely walks and drives to do. Or simply do Nothing.

Gorgeous little house with lovely views.

We stayed here while visiting our son & it was the perfect place to base ourselves. Spotlessly clean with everything you will need. Comfortable bed & great deck to sit on & just breathe in the view of the lagoon. Will definitely be back.
