"The gruff owner needs to realise that she is in the hospitality business, not doing you a favour by allowing you to stay at her hotel. I stayed there for 8 nights and had the following inconveniences: Breakfast was not provided the first day, even though I had paid for it (“I’m not starting to do breakfasts again until tomorrow”); my room was not cleaned on Sunday (“the chambermaid doesn’t work on Sundays”); the first time I used the shower all kinds of black bits of dirt and fungus came out of...

"The Room was clean but tired? The bathroom was very tired but worked. Piping hot water.. and a big of water stained bath? The decor in the bathroom was very tired- but it was clean. The bed was VERY comfortable. The room was much bigger than I expected. For the price I would stay here again.. Incredible value. The chap who booked me in.. Young lad.. very pleasant and polite. Thank you "

"Had a great stay atvyhe Hurtwood. Found it by chance. Great village with plenty of walking direct in to the Surrey Hills as directed by the lovely lady who checked us in. Room very comfortable with fresh milk provided. We found the car park easy for a big car, but would not be so easy in season I think. Dinner in the bar was excellent and good portions. Breakfast cooked to order also great. Will go again. Thank you."

"Bedding wasnt a clean as could have been some marks on bed linen and for a double bed it was uncomfortable as it was two single mattresses put together and was not very pleasant to sleep on. However the spa was perfect and very clean and modern with good sauna, steam and jacuzzi with strong jets. All food very good and Breakfast was perfectly served. All staff very helpful and friendly. "
