Not so private vacation
Not private--- The house we stayed in was in the backyard of the owner or property manager--- we did not want as much contact as we had, or to feel like we were being watched. The owners also left Republican propaganda all over the house--- Republic national convention books, and other unsavory literature to spark political conversation on what should be a relaxing vacation with the family from over seas. We had to explain our current situation in government to my uncle from Germany, who is constantly worried for our safety in the USA--- not great--- the house was like a platform for the owner to promote themselves, as it was filled with "paintings" and "photographs" with her name all over it- like a C rated art gallery--- aside from the overbearing presence of the owner--- the dishwasher was full of dirty dishes, and we had to clean the oven before using it. The grill was also extremely dirty, and we regretted trying to clean it to use--- other than all of that--- great location? In today's socially charged atmosphere, its best to leave out the politics- especially if you are actually trying to invite guests, and not just family and friends. It can make people very uncomfortable.
