The Cornmill at at Ballystockart Cottages, your home from home.

Ballystockart Cottages enjoys a peaceful rural setting yet is a close commute to Belfast.
The building was converted in 2002 from a working Cornmill which dates from the 17th century and retains original features, giving it a quirky cottage feel.
The property is self contained and has its own entrance, only your party will have access during your stay.
The Corn Mill has a first floor living space with a large window to view the surrounding countryside and vaulted ceiling. The primary bedroom features a king size bed and is on the first floor. The second bedroom on the ground floor features two single beds and has an en-suite (toilet, basin, and shower).
The main bathroom is on the first floor and has a luxury walk in shower.
The property is semi-detached and enjoys a peaceful rural setting with ample room for free parking.
WiFi is available.
Other things to note:
We care about the environment and try to operate in the most environmentally friendly and sustainable way possible. A proportion of our electricity is provided by solar panels. We encourage guests to consider switching lights off when not in use, conserving water where possible, and to recycle during their stay with us.

  • St. John’s Point Lighthouse was first exhibited in 1844. The original lighthouse was painted white. In 1902 three black bands were added. Its current markings of black with two yellow bands have been in place since 1954. The color of the light was changed from white to red on 1st July 1860. The tower was originally only 14m tall. It was extended to its current dizzying height of 40m in the 1880's and is now the tallest onshore lighthouse on the Irish coast. The lighthouse was automated in 1981. We had an excellent stay at The Cornmill. The cottage is charming, quaint, and completely cozy. It was also a short drive to Belfast city centre. When we arrived we were so pleased to see that the whole place had been decorated for Christmas. A lovely tree was in the upstairs living area and there were twinkling lights outside. We were greeted with a welcome bottle of prosecco, chocolates, and other snacks. The kitchen had everything one might need to cook a meal - I even made a Sunday roast. The cooker was a large multi-oven one with lots of glass top hobs. We were delighted to find some staples waiting for us in the fridge as well. There was milk, OJ, yogurt, and strawberries which saved us a trip to the shops for breakfast items.Lindsay was the perfect host. She made us feel very welcome. She was very responsive and was quick to answer all of our our questions. She also gave great local restaurant recommendations.I can't recommend a stay at The Cornmill highly enough. We can't wait for our next visit.

Our week stay at the Cornmill was fantastic! It was even better than expected. it's a quiet place in the country but still so close to Dundonald and Comber. Only about 15 to 20 min drive to Belfast. Lindsay was a very responsive and kind host. We can not wait to come back and can not wait to recommend the Cornmill to anyone we know heading to the area. The views are amazing, plenty of room for a family of 4. Everything you need to cook, washer and dryer which was so helpful for a long stay. You just can't go wrong staying at Lindsay's place. Thank you for opening your wonderful home and making us feel at home.
