"Extremely personable landlord, Craig. Room was prepared ready for us to check in early (off to a wedding after a long drive) and sandwiches provided on request which was very much appreciated. The room and bathroom were spacious and nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. Little communal kitchen area provided everything needed for a late night snack and breakfast which was a nice touch. Heard from local friends at the wedding that the food is great too. "Terrible stay. Dirty rooms, Breakfast is non-existent and all continental only. A lot of maintenance workers stay here, so you can imagine the standard. Depressing side of the road lodge. It is not a hotel really, more like a youth hostel!"

"Room clean and set up as asked, room had a couple of issues (identified to staff who were helpful) location excellent for access to A14, surrounding location noisy and smelly as next to service area. Room warm so needed windows open which wasn’t that pleasant. Breakfast was busy but found a table, food ok, not as good as other brands, many items out when we had breakfast but staff working hard to restock but no fresh fruits, no pastries and juice me mostly empty. Easy to find and not far from Cambridge . The breakfast was good a choice for everybody’s palate . Would stay again if we were visiting the area again ."

"After meeting our friends and spending an evening in Cambridge we returned to the crown and punchbowl for a night cap before bed and and found the bar was shut up and all staff had gone home. It was 10.45pm. So our evening ended quite abruptly. Our room which was on the first floor, was a little on the small side, with only a skyline window, and unfortunately the blind didn't keep the light out, so it was very bright at 5am. "Great place to stay if you’re off to the races, 15mins by car or Taxi. The pub does not provide a breakfast but their evening meals are good, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are at the back of the pub and have ensuite bathrooms, tea, coffee and water bottles in the mini fridge. The linen and towels were all fresh and the bed very comfortable. "

"This was a lovely quiet location which was very relaxing. The property we stayed in was lovely,my only disappointment was the bed was uncomfortable and both pillows were really flat. This however would not put us off staying again,we would just bring along our own pillows,and although the bed wasn’t very comfy,we could cope with this just for one night. Other than this ,we enjoyed our stay,and would definately return ."

"It was an ok stay. Very basic and a bit tired looking but clean enough if you don’t inspect the stained mattress and marks on the walls. Plus points helpful staff and free parking and next to a service station with an express M&S, Macdonalds, Greggs etc. plenty of electric charging on site."
