To say this at first: Writing this opinion/review about the hotel takes into account that this is a pretty expensive 5-star-hotel.
I would not book again. Staff was polite like everywhere in Asia but pretty cold, also no welcome drink on arrival. Everyone seemed a bit snobbish and careless. Breakfast is very expensive (more than 20 Euros per person) if it is not included in your booking; it is very good though and plenty of nice food to choose from.
Location is pretty bad. There is nothing really great around this place within walking distance. To walk from MRT/BTS Petchabuhri or Makassan with your luggage is possible but you will probably have to cross a pedestrian bridge and lift your luggage up the stairs and it's a few hundred meters walking. The room was nice and pretty big, bed was good too. But the aircon was extremely loud even on the lowest level and the street and MRT was clearly audible in the room. Didn’t bother my sleep but it might bother others.
The pool had way too much chlorine, seemed a bit ageing and the hot tub was too hot and moldy wood around. The shower near the pool had an unpleasant sleazy floor and a dead cockroach in it, so I didn’t use it.
Overall I just expected more on many different levels for the price I paid.
