Camp Sandy is a gated, lakefront estate and is all about the experience. Many activities, on a beautiful and very private property.....100% 5-Star reviews. The 6800 square foot home sits on 4 acres of lake frontage on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas and sleeps 28. The property has 420 feet of water frontage that is flat to the lake so you can walk right in, this is not one of those properties that is up high on a cliff with just a lake view. The lake is very full. Lots of water in the cove at the house....kayak right off the property. See the pictures.

The property is 2.2 miles from HEB grocery store, gas station, 7-11, restaurants, Walgreens, Target, Wells Fargo, etc….and it is the closest Lake Travis rental property to downtown
(just 22 minutes) and only 27 miles to Austin Bergstrom International Airport, making it the most desirable part of Lake Travis.

While staying here, you will enjoy concierge service and offered help in coordinating anything that you may desire. The upstairs has a massive open great room, living and dining area with a beautiful view of the lake and there is a spacious kitchen with island counter seating,. For bedrooms, there is a master, and 2 individual rooms with king beds.

Downstairs has a large game room, media room (Media room has 5 Full size beds and serves as 2 bedrooms), a bunk room with 3 bunk beds, a room with a king and murphy bed, a room with a full, a kitchen, and 3 bathrooms.

It is hard to overstate how amazing this place is! In fact, the only thing that exceeds it is the graciousness of its host, David. There was not a single thing more we could have wanted from either: the property is stunning, it is jam-packed with things to do, the location is absolutely perfect in that it’s private yet convenient to all necessities, and David’s attentiveness before, during, and after our visit was spectacular. We highly recommend this property without reservation and look forward to returning soon!

I hosted my bachelor party at Camp Sandy and I truly couldn't have asked for a better location. Any activity you can think of is there. It's an easy place to entertain a large group. David was very communicative the whole way and offered us numerous useful food and logistics recommendations. I would certainly recommend Camp Sandy to any large group looking for a fun time on Lake Travis!

David is a gracious and responsive host! He gave a personal tour of the property upon our arrival which was very helpful. The property is beautifully appointed and VERY WELL EQUIPPED! As a group of 17, we had plenty of dishes, towels, toiletries, etc. The lower level game room was fabulous! We had a few brief showers during our stay so we made good use of that space (with 7 kids-it saved the day!) But, the highlight of our stay was the outdoor space. Pool, hot tub, "treehouse", pickle ball, kayaks, fishing, volleyball, etc. No one was ever without something to do! We had a great night making pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven and spent alot of time in the pavilion which has plenty of fans to keep you cool! I cannot say enough about how wonderful our weekend was at Camp Sandy!

I cannot recommend Camp Sandy enough. We had the most wonderful stay, and David was the greatest host. He accommodated us with an early check in, late check out, and even sent us cookies during our stay. The grounds are so beautiful, and there are so many things to do. We had a group of 19 adults, and everyone had a blast playing volleyball, pickleball, swimming, kayaking, playing pool, and hanging out. We can’t wait to come back.

Family Birthday Celebration

We celebrated three family birthdays during the July 4th weekend. We had a great time and the house had plenty of room to accommodate everyone during rain events. While some of the rains were heavy and caused some issues, David was quick responsiveness was appreciated by everyone. Definitely would stay here again.

Amazing stay

David was the best Vrbo host I’ve ever had. He was easy to communicate with, had everything and anything you could ever need. I was there for a combined bachelorette party and he gave the best recommendations for food and a party bus. He even delivered a special surprise for us. My friends couldn’t stop talking about the property and everything it had to offer. Would recommend this place over and over again!!

Combo bachelor / bachelorette

My fiance & I decided to do a bach bash inviting our wedding party & s/o to camp sandy. We couldn’t have dreamt up a better celebration! We had 12 total, and no one ever “wanted” anything as it was all available on the property! Everyone had comfortable beds, bathroom space & lots of activities to choose from. We were so grateful for the lights on the volleyball court & the option to play pickleball or basketball. The pizza oven is a MUST USE item - in the outdoor kitchen - which is surrounded with fans to keep it cool. We had an excellent experience and plan to do a bi-annual reunion with the group. Thanks, David!

Camp Sandy was the best!

Our group loved playing volleyball, swimming in the pool, playing pickle ball and utilizing all of the activities at Camp Sandy! David and his team were super helpful and communicative. Kim said he was also super convenient in location to downtown Austin and other activities around Lake Travis! If you’re with a large group, it’s very easy to get a ride! Thanks David and Camp Sandy. Can’t wait to come back one day!

David was a great host. The property was very nice. We had 8 adults and 9 children. There were plenty of beds for everyone and plenty to do.Unfortunately, the water is way down so it is not lakefront. We were told in advance of the situation.

Camp Sandy is great

We had a bachelor party of 11 that stayed there and we all had a great time. The only thing we wished was different would have been the lake actually being full, but since there is a drought in the region the lake was below 50% capacity.

Awesome home base for UT Austin commencement weekend

We stayed at this property with 20 people in town to attend our daughter's graduation at UT Austin. The location was about 35 min to campus but since we only needed to be on campus Friday morning for commencement activities, this property was perfect for the remainder of our 3 night stay.Communication with David was great and he met us at the house shortly after arrival to give us a tour (and surprised us with Tiff's Treats during our stay)Lots of activities for all ages (true to pictures posted on website)Outdoor pavilion had full size fridge, sink, and gas stove/oven, in addition to the large Weber grill (great for the graduation party we hosted onsite)Like other reviewers, you do need to be able to navigate stairs and slope/incline both into the house and down to the outdoor activities. All bathrooms located inside the house.We would definitely stay here for a group of our size

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious and well-maintained property. The host was very helpful and provided excellent recommendations for local activities.Please note that guests are expected to leave the property very clean and dispose of all trash and leftovers upon departure.

Bachelor Party

Came for a bachelor party with a big group. Everybody loved the space and all the house had to offer. You would find it very hard to get bored here. Tucked away so you have some privacy.Only bummer was the lake was dried up where the house was. Owner was transparent about it though. It also didn't even affect the trip much. Communication overall throughout the process was great.Would book again.

Awesome stay at a special property!

We loved our stay at Camp Sandy! David was extremely helpful and communicative from the moment we booked our stay - gave great recommendations. The property itself was perfect for our group of 15 guys, plenty of fun games & activities to do in the expansive yard a pool and hot tub. Plenty of beds for everyone and space to hang out, eat dinner, etc.Very close to marinas and launch points for a boating trip, which we did Saturday during our stay. And easy access to downtown in 20-30 mins.We would definitely highly recommend Camp Sandy for an active group of friends looking for a great place to stay near Lake Travis!

Our stay for a bachelorette party was hands down a perfect weekend. And a lot of that can be attributed to the communication with the owner, David. He was so helpful and willing to give recommendations. Which we took him up on and it made our weekend as smooth as possible. The property is fantastic and it can be used by anyone for any reason. Softball Tourney Fun

I stayed at this property with a high school softball team, we had 24 total people and it worked out amazing with the rooms. The girls had the entire downstairs, coaches and myself had the 3 rooms upstairs. We played in a tourney in Lago Vista and the girls had a blast. Pickle ball was the biggest hit, but there were late night volleyball games, hot tubbing, pictures taken all over the beautiful property. We ate dinner outside one night on all the picnic tables and it was so nice out. I would love to visit again when the lake is full but honestly there was so much to do that we didn’t miss it. Highly recommend and David was amazing throughout the whole stay. P.s. If you get the chance look up Chef Rita…she came to the house and cooked dinner and it was delicious!! David has her info.

For a great time…

This place has everything! Great place. Great Host. Great time. We really had a wonderful time. The kids stayed outside all day playing on all the different games. At night we played more games inside.It is a wonderful place and the host David couldn’t be better. *You have to be able to negotiate stairs.

Camp Sandy is the perfect place for a family get away. There is so much to do for everyone and the house is a great fit for lots of kids. Very comfortable family area. This was our third stay and we are looking forward to the next one.
