Cottage on large property with lots of trees and deer. Large one bedroom with fully equipped kitchen and utility with washer & dryer. Living space is large and fully furnished. Attached covered porch with barbeque grill. First time on market. New photos coming to reflect the covered porch and new patio furniture. Also just added new TV, internet and Wifi. Guest can access waterfront dock of owner.

LONG POST ALERT

I surprised my family with this trip. As a first time VRBO user I felt like I was overly precautions b/c this is not just for me but my family. I searched ONLY for "waterfront properties" in the filters and even checked the distance from the lake just to be on the safe side. We drove right past the cottage on accident to the "lakefront property" and it was strange because this property that the gps led us to seemed pretty swanky. So I reached out to the host. She proceeded to tell me "Oh no that's my house." Well, turns out...its not "lakefront" and was advertised as such. Thankfully it was a surprise to the family because I was shook that I'd purchased something that I didn't get. So day 1, I explained to the host my concern and her response when I said "I was expecting a lakefront property" was "it is what it is..." and "well let me know what you wanna do." Its Labor Day weekend and everything on the lake is booked solid. How do I know that you ask...well I spent all of my first night of a 4 night stay...searching. We stayed as we really had no choice and I asked the host to adjust the price to reflect what she actually had. She said no and I basically paid "waterfront" price for a cottage that was an almost 3 min walk (not 1min as advertised) to the lake. As we hung out on her deck b/c that was the only access to the lake, we saw the host walking around in her home. It felt weird and we ended up doing other stuff that didn't feel like we were trespassing.

Quiet, peaceful, and direct access to the water

I only wish we could have stayed longer. Jill's cottage was a delight- nestled in old beautiful trees that provided ample shade. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed was super comfy and the A/C worked magically. Jill was so accommodating- we are forever grateful. We definitely plan to return. We lounged all day in the water and on the balcony deck- just what we needed.

Perfect lake getaway

My wife and I enjoyed a few days away from kids in this perfect cottage. It has all necessary comforts and amenities and great access to the lake front. Great stay!

Nice place!

The cottage in very clean and in a great area. The house has been recently renovated and has all the comforts you need. Three minute walk to the lake and the awesome two story boat dock. Jill met us when we were leaving and was super friendly. Will definitely visit again!

Awesome cottage by the lake!

I was able to stay here for a couple of days while traveling for work. Over the last couple of weeks I have stayed at many places along the Colorado River but this was by far my favorite and could not have need happier with the property, cottage and lake access with two story boat dock. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town.

Felt like a vacation that would be 3x the cost.

This place is a gem, we will be back. The cute little house is very private and decompressing. Jill, gladly gave us access to her stunning dock on lake austin. The view over looks Emma Long park across the lake. We were easily able to paddle board as much as we wanted. We stayed mid week. Thanks Jill for your A+ service and hospitality. Gorgeous property & lovely host

We had such an amazing time at Jill's cottage! She is very responsive, a gracious host, and extremely accommodating. The cottage is a perfect getaway for relaxing by the water. The property is stunning, with large trees throughout and ideal lake access. I would love to visit again.

Lovely Weekend Getaway

This was a beautiful weekend getaway for me & my partner. The house is spacious & comfortable with plenty of room! Being gently greeted by the local deer each morning was a precious bonus. The view from the boat dock is so peaceful. With both of us being quite active in the fitness/coaching community, this was a great way to find the “stillness & quiet” we needed to rejuvenate our mind, body & soul. :)

Quiet/Peaceful Casita Convenient to Austin

Great property. Super convenient to town but great natural setting next to the lake with deer roaming nearby. The property was very spacious and perfectly clean with all the amenities needed for a longer stay. We enjoyed sitting on the covered patio in the mornings. Host was fantastic and even offered to let us check out late since there was no one staying the night after.

Gorgeous Property & Home

We absolutely loved our four night stay at the Wood Island house. The house had everything we needed and more, beautiful spacious kitchen, master bedroom, living room and a huge covered patio with nice outdoor seating. We also enjoyed taking in the beautiful views of Lake Austin while sitting on the dock behind the main house. It was easy to get to as well. We will definitely come back and recommend this incredible vrbo to our family and friends.

Austin excellence

Jill was an exceptional host… She welcomed us, made our check in easy, and was very accommodating and flexible. The cottage is adorable. Has EVERYTHING two people could need, and the best feature was relaxing on the dock right on the lake! Absolutely beautiful spot on the water to enjoy a drink!

Wonderful in Every way!!

Jill has created the most amazing, warm, HOME experience in her cottage! Nestled amongst a wonderfully unique, private and stunning property, the cottage provided the relaxed, private and yet “home away from home” space we were seeking for a getaway/staycay! We so enjoyed all of the modern and carefully thought out amenities, the outdoor spaces, the frequent visits by the local deer, owl and hawk residents! Meeting Jill herself ( not to mention her very kind and obliging neighbors) was the cherry on top of a wonderful stay!! THANK YOU Jill for your hospitality, your kindness and the use of your stunning cottage!! We WILL be back!!

Very nice!

Located in a beautiful area. Very peaceful and loved seeing the deer out of our windows each morning and watching the fireflies in the evenings out on the nice covered patio. The house is spotless and decor is very nice and updated.

Restful and beautiful

Jill was a gracious host who made everything about our stay perfect. Cottage is perfectly clean and well-appointed. We enjoyed grilling on the patio, preparing breakfast in the full kitchen, hanging out by the water, and watching the birds and deer on the large treed property. Can’t wait to return when it’s warm enough to get in the water!

My husband and I had such an enjoyable experience at this beautiful cabin. It was easy to relax with all the amenities. The property manager was great with communication and responded quickly. Highly recommend!
