## Neighborhood

De house boat is located in harbour 'De Oude Werf', just 15 min. walking from the center of Aalsmeer and a large supermarket. You will be staying next to a large lake area where you can swim, kayak, and experience many other water sport activities. The banks of the lake are riddles with harbour areas, bars/restaurants with terraces and recreation areas.

Aalsmeer is an old eel fishing town on the banks of the Westeinderplassen. With a rich history it is now a characteristic town with lovely lake views from the marinas. The town has a small but fun center where you can go to shop or to enjoy a drink in the town harbour. There is an outdoor market every Tuesday. Also to be found in Aalsmeer: a casino, horti-culture and flower art museum and a number of great restaurants. Not to forget; the biggest flower (tulips!) auction of the country, which is still functional.

Do you want to discover the lake? You are free to use our 2 kayaks and 2 Stand Up Paddleboards with paddle! You can access the lake from our area within minutes. The kayaks/SUPs are made available from May until October. Using them is at your own risk. Damages (to the kayak, SUP, or to personal items) are your own responsibility and using the kayaks/SUPs during bad weather conditions (heavy wind, rain, or thunder) is forbidden.

The interconnected lakes have a total area of over 10km2 and exist of one large lake, one smaller lake and hundreds of small islands within them. It's a great experience to navigate the lakes and small waterways that connect them and the islands.

## Transit

Aalsmeer is only a 15 minute drive from Schiphol Airport and by train and bus it will take you about 20. In general, public transport will get you around quite well. We will share a handy website to plan your route!

You can park your (rental) car right next to the boat.

Nice place to come down

Small but beauty. Everything there. Like this place and i will came back everytime. Generator is often making noise , and the Beamer for television is not ready for looking. That's not so good. The Aeroplaine is near to.

Cute place!

This boathouse was perfect for my partner and I! We took public transportation into Amsterdam everyday (20 minute walk to the bus stop, then a 10 minute bus ride, then a 30 minute tram ride to city center) it was so nice to come back to a quite place right on the water afterwards to relax. The only downsides were that there were no soap in the hand soap dispensers and that the public laundry was out of order, other than that it was perfect! Thank you!

Das Boot hatte Schräglage, was zumindest beim Schlafen nicht besonders angenehm war. Der hintere Schlafraum hatte eher die Atmosphäre einer Abstellkammer als eines Schlafzimmers. Zudem hatten wir für drei Personen nur zwei Deckbetten, dafür fünf Kopfkissen. Die als bequeme Taschenfederkern-Matratze gepriesene Matratze des Schlafsofas hatte Flecken und war völlig durchgelegen, so dass das Metallgestänge massiv spürbar war. Erholsamer Schlaf geht anders! Die Toilettenspülung funktionierte nicht zuverlässig, erst nach langem Warten konnte abgespült werden. Teilweise haben wir die WC-Anlage des Yachthafens genutzt. Die Mückengitter gaukeln Komfort vor, der nicht vorhanden war, weil die Gitter entweder eingerissen oder die Halterungen defekt waren. Die Sitzeinlage eines Kajaks war völlig verdreckt und deshalb nicht nutzbar, das Kajak selbst musste ebenfalls vor Benutzung gereinigt werden. Eines der beiden SUPs hatte ein Leck und eine fehlende Finne, so dass es nicht genutzt werden konnte. Das schmerzt insbesondere, weil gerade die beiden SUPs der Grund der Buchung genau dieses Hausbootes waren. Die Beleuchtung des Kühlschranks war defekt, die Regalfächer in der Tür waren abgerissen und die Fachböden fielen heraus. Die Kochutensilien waren in einem sehr gebrauchten Zustand, da hilft es auch nicht, wenn zwischendurch ein neuer Topf noch in Umverpackung im Schrank gefunden wurde, um über undefinierbar Klebendes in Töpfen und Pfannen hinwegzusehen.

Cozy houseboat

Sehr gemütliches Hausboot mit allem was es braucht. Zentrale Lage, Amsterdam und andere Destinationen sind mit dem Auto schnell zu erreichen. Einfach im Norden Amsterdams parken und mit der gratis Fähre ins Zentrum fahren.

I should have read more into the other reviews. Somebody indicated the boat slanted and I thought, how bad can that be? It was pretty bad. I stumbled a few times and things would slide off where I put them. The sink wouldn’t fully empty either. The screen for the back door had holes in it and I got eaten alive by bugs each night. Couldn’t turn on the fan to cool down because it shook violently and I thought it would fall on me while sleeping if I could get to sleep through the noise of it. The washer and dryer on site were inoperable. Location was good related to the town but being the first slip in the marina was a bit noisy.

Great potential needs upkeep

We had a number of issues starting with a refrigerator that didn’t work (turned out to be a bad outlet so we could use the frig if the freezer was unplugged). The toilet often took 30-45 minutes before you could flush again. After reporting this early in the morning day 1 we finally heard back at 4pm and were told this was normal for a houseboat (??). One of the stove burners did not work. One window screen couldn’t be used because the clip was broken (the wind kept blowing it out of the window). The place was clean but all the containers for shampoo and soap in the shower were empty. For the $$ this seems like a lot of little things that need attention. It is a cute space and the kitchen is pretty well equipped for a small unit. We didn’t use the kayaks or SUPs but it’s a very cool option. Great location - the town area is very close (just a few min by bicycle) and the canal it is on connects to a huge, beautiful lake.

Woonarkje bij amsterdam

Gedeeltelijk leuk en smaakvol opgeknapt woonbootje. Wel klein, foto’s vertekenen nogal! Veel plekken viezig ennslecht onderhouden. Gezien de schoonmaakkosten mag je meer verwachten! Daarnaast lag het bootje erg schuin waardoor slapen wat lastig was! Als alkes netjes wordt gemaakt en schoon (keuken en pannen!) kan het een leuk verblijf zijn!
