"The check-in system was a chaos with little help from the hotel going back and forth from reception desk to the electronic system. Very old rooms and very old bathrooms. During breakfast the coffee machine was out of duty and they charged the coffee from the same bar."

"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. The bathroom was fine and the tea/coffee making facilities were...

The bathroom was ensuite with a shower. We had an evening meal which was fantastic, very good sized portions. Would highly reccomend and will definately stay again."

"We stayed for a night for my birthday and my father in laws birthday and we spent the afternoon in front of the fire which was so cosy and relaxing. We then had dinner and had the famous ribs…we were all blown away by the quantity and quality of meat. The staff were incredibly friendly! The room we stayed in was huge and comfortable. Definitely will be returning! A fabulous stay. "
