"The room was very clean and the bed had lovely sheets. The shower was very good. However the main problem was there was no place to have breakfast, I was informed of this on my way to the hotel! As we came by train we could not go and find a place for breakfast. Staff told us there was a cafe where we could eat 2 minutes up the road, it was not a cafe but a service station that sold hot pies. "All the staff where polite and helpful, it just probably my over sights that I didn’t know this is a pub and a busy one, it was 1 in the morning with music playing that I emailed the pub to ask when things would quiet down and my young child couldn’t sleep. Very basic room, screw on the floor, cracks in the walls, dirty toilet and bath."

"Heating in the initial room was not able to be turned on. No equivalent room was available. I was told I would have to pay for an upgrade or stay in a freezing cold room. Finally, 2 hours later, I was advised I would be moved to another room at no additional cost. This should have been athe immediate and unquestioning solution. Very disappointing. "As usual my stay was wonderful The staff cannot do enough for you Standards in all areas are very high! This is what keeps me returning…on that note, I’m wondering if there could be some kind of reward , ie a free dinner, or returning guests?!"

"Parking easy and safely tucked away behind hotel. Lovely spacious room and fresh bedding, very clean. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, lots of choice, in lovely large dining room."

"Hmm. The room was fine, and in a good location. The blinds aren’t great, though, and let in a lot of light. However, what has caused me to give it a poor score is, I’d been to a funeral the day before and was looking forward to a lie in before my long drive home. Imagine my annoyance, then, when the cleaner tried to get into my room at 7am and of course woke me up. The only thing I wanted was a good night’s sleep and The Ship failed me. I reckon Greene King should refund me."
