One staff member. Was rude. And it wasnt untill the Sunday night that we realised he had been over charging me on my bottle of wine. It was only £15 and he was charging me £20. We complained to the ower she said she would look into it and the next morning (monday). She didnit even speak. Would i recommend NO.

A perfect location for the event I attended in York with great access to the Minister, Contemporary Art Gallery, De Grey Rooms, Bars and Restuarants. Didn't spend much time in the hotel, unfortunately (not even for breakfast). There was too much to do in the city!

This is a property with a few rooms above a busy tavern. Our room was equipped with a tub but no shower. The facilities were definitely not luxury by any means, but the location was a excellent and the staff warm and friendly.

Situated in good spot near Minster, Shambles and not to far from train station (12 mins walk). Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and polite, good full english.

Very close to all tourist Attractions parking just behind hotel but very expensive during the day. Free overnight from midnight until 8am. The bar has loud music at weekends which you will hear in your room so go to bed late or join in the fun at the bar.

Zimmer: St. Marry‘s Abbey im 2. Stock Positiv: - zu Fuß vom Bahnhof in 10 Min zu erreichen - in ca 5 Min zu Fuß am Minster - Ruhige Lage im 2. Stock - Musik aus dem Pub war nicht zu hören - Tee, Kaffee, Kakao Zubereitungsmöglichkeit auf dem Zimmer mit kleinen Keksen & werden täglich aufgefüllt - guter Wasserdruck zum Duschen mit schnell warmen Wasser Negativ: - Mottenbefall im Zimmer (Teppich). Nach Beanstandung wurde „nur“ gesaugt. Die Motten kamen nach paar Stunden wieder aus dem Teppich. - kleines Bett (max. 140cm) mit abgenutzten Kissen - Fenster schließen nicht sauber - muffiges Bad / Lüftung ging nicht - zwei steile Treppen. Schwierig mit großen Koffern. Aber das war zu erwarten. - Keine Kofferaufbewahrungsmöglichkeiten, trotz vorheriger Zusage.

Lovey cosy room above the taven with nice cooked breakfast room clean bed comfy adequate shower road bit noisy but to be expected as its in the center of york we requested a particular room and we got the room

The property was a lovely room very warm cosy. But the only issue there was no shower or handrail to help get in and out of a large bath. The shower would have been helpful. You need to realised that the was music at night in the pub below the rooms. The staff and breakfast were lovely.

No working shower in a tired room

The room was tired, dirty and didn’t have a working shower. The hotel manager NEVER responded to any of our messages or emails. Non existent customer service. The bar staff was extremely defensive when I complained about a non working shower. I would not recommend this establishment.

Avoid! It’s cheap for a reason! Didn’t end up stopping here due to the absolutely insane amount of noise coming from the bar below. It went on until the early hours of the morning, massively exceeding the closing time advertised online, as well as the legal quiet period of 11pm. Cut our trip short and drove the 3 hours home at 1am. There was nothing on the listing to say there might be noise, and we weren’t told about it when checking in. Tried to get a refund due to it not being as advertised and was refused. I’m glad it was so cheap because I’ve wasted £90 that I’m not getting back.

Great location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pub below is a great pub with fantastic live music. If you want to go to bed early this is not the place for you. Room and ensuite in need of update

Very bad experience, when I checked in I was told their breakfast would start at 9. I said I would be leaving by 8:30 and I was told I could take my breakfast away at 8. Very disappointed I didn't get anything and the staff said there was none.

The property was excellently situated just around the corner from the Minster. The rooms are well presented with everything you need and staff are very helpful. The pub down stairs is well stocked and a nice environment to be in. Jane was amazing and very generous on our arrival to take our bags in early so we could make the most of our time in York. The breakfast offer is great and the food was lovely, well cooked and great products. The cost of the breakfast offer was well priced and so worth the money spent. I would highly recommend this place for your visit and would happily pay to stay here again.

Single Room - Comfortable

I stayed here for two nights on the wsy back from Scotland to London. I always love York. The room above the pub was comfortable and had all that was needed for the two nights. The check in was quick and was shown to my room. There is no view from the room which didnt bother me as only needed the bed. The shower was good and refreshing. The normal tea and coffee was supplied. It was surprisingly quiet given that it was above a pub.

Perfect pub with great rooms

A lovely pub in the centre of York with rooms and a pay and display carpark behind it. I've stayed here before and will always stay here whenever I visit York.
