Look, here's the deal: the hotel is fine. The property seems nice, the rooms are good, they have all the standard stuff a hotel room has and they were, despite the problem I'll outline in a moment, quite clean and presentable.
Furthermore, the front desk staff are EXCELLENT. Personable, efficient, able to deal with more complicated customers while keeping the line moving. Everything you would want in customer service representatives, beyond reproach.
However, as we pulled up to check in, it became quickly clear that UNIFOR was on strike at the property. Inside, I noticed that the cleaning and maintenance staff were clearly new at their jobs - scabs, in other words.
I can't abide by scabs, and if I'd known in advance that I would be aiding in crossing a picket line I would have changed my reservations. Instead, all I can do is leave this review and state that if management exercised better staff management and received better support from corporate then there would be less labour disputes and thereby less need to implicate customers in them.
