Serenity Heights Place

Serenity Heights Place offers a relaxing space to unwind and enjoy nature in beautiful Willow Alaska. We offer a 750sf open concept apartment which is modern, airy, and extremely clean above our detached garage. It is secluded but close to the main Parks Highway. Walls of windows provide spectacular sunrise, sunset or star viewing. On a clear night, look for the Aurora Borealis, our famed Northern Lights. We have a large parking area for a boat or trailer and live in the main house year around.

We offer many of the amenities of home such as a full sized fully equipped kitchen, a workspace with WIFI and office chair, all linens for kitchen, bath, and bedroom, plenty of pillows and blankets, and some games and puzzles when you need to relax after a day of adventure. In addition, we provide dish soap, dishwasher tablets, liquid hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your stay. The bedroom offers a queen bed and walk in closet, and twin bunkbeds in the living area provide added sleeping space, all with new mattress. The main living area has plenty of seating with a dining table, bar, and a comfortable double recliner sofa for watching TV or gazing out the huge windows.

Serenity Heights Place offers a relaxing space to unwind and enjoy nature in beautiful Willow Alaska. We are located 1 mile off the Parks Highway at mile 73, 73 miles from Anchorage. Thirty-six miles to the north you’ll find downtown Talkeetna with its quaint gift shops, eateries, and outdoor activities including flight seeing/glacier landings, jetboat tours, Alaska Railroad train access, zip line, and fishing tours, not to mention spectacular views of Denali which is another 164 miles to the north. We are 2 miles from the famed Hatcher Pass Road, gateway to Hatcher’s Pass with its snow machine trails, skiing, hiking, berry picking, hang gliding, and the historic Independence mine. Willow is the heart of dog mushing and Serenity Heights was an active kennel until Nov. 2019. Two dog kennels are in our neighborhood, with the Re-Start of the Iditarod 5 miles from our home. Serenity Heights Place was lost in the 2015 Sockeye wildfire and rebuilt in that same year with all the modern amenities.

There is a long flight of stairs to access the apartment.

Other things to note
With dog kennels nearby, consider bringing ear plugs or white noise for sensitive sleepers. Convenience stores nearby but nearest grocery store 20 miles away.

I had booked this property because I wanted to be close to the area I intended to fish. But it turned out more than that. Just a good area to come back to and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful.The apartment was roomy and well appointed. The pictures were exactly as described, even better.

This is a very nicely maintained independent unit from the hosts’ main residence. It is very clean, spacious, and located conveniently to the main road. The hosts are very friendly and thoughtful — there are a few useful amenities in the unit. We really enjoyed our two days at the property. Very refreshing. Will recommend to everyone who is looking for a relaxing break while touring the region.

This was very good property. Owner had thought through several details. Kitchen was one of the key reasons why we had picked this place. Owner had provided for commonly needed things that made our stay even more comfortable. Also the place was very clean. Nice place. This is just 1 mile inside of highway and on way to Denali. So very convenient.

This is a beautiful property located away from everything. The property owners were wonderful to work with and the place we very comfortable. Great place for us to stay as it was close to the river for salmon fishing. Highly recommend!

The apartment is as advertised in the photos. Super clean. Host communicates quickly and is helpful. This is an excellent place to stay. Dogs can be heard in distance but not obnoxious at all. We came for the sled dogs so we enjoyed hearing them. Loved Snowhook dog sledding and for floating river Willow Creek Adventures.

We stayed here a week during the Willow 300 sled dog race. It was a perfect depot for all our needs. The drive in to find the property felt a little unsure but once you arrive it’s a beautiful home with an in-law apartment. Kitchen is well stocked and organized (I’d maybe add a pizza cutter) there’s onsite laundry, one bedroom and the bunks gave enough space for my daughter. Large windows overlook the property which we enjoyed. The host was very helpful and friendly, she even brought me a few eggs I needed one morning! I would easily recommend this rental. Thank you for the lovely space and stay! We have already recommended to others.
