  • Spacious cottage with sea views, ideal for larger groups, ideally located for exploring the cobbled streets and abbey of Whitby.. Ground Floor:

    Bedroom 4: Super Kingsize (6ft) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Private parking for 2 medium sized cars; additional parking in public car park 700 yards (at cost). No smoking. Please note: Couples and family bookings only.. This end cottage, 100 yards from the beach, enjoys an unrivalled position with magnificent views over the sea, harbour and beaches from both front and side windows and lies at the very eastern edge of Whitby, yet only a short walk, 300 yards, down cobbled streets to the harbour bridge. Captains Cottage is an award-winning holiday cottage and is the one retained by the developers partly for their own family use. Sensitively re-built from a former old smokehouse, the architect designed interiors are spacious and well-proportioned with double glazing, cosy efficient heating and an array of bathrooms/shower rooms. Parking for two cars and an outdoor seating area with picnic chairs are available (both almost unique in Whitby). The cottage is in an ideal position for both summer and winter holidays. Old maritime Whitby with all its history, the famous 199 steps, the abbey, restaurants, pubs and museums are all within a short stroll. Extensive walking including the Cleveland Way is available locally and even direct from the cottage.

Excellent location, superb for children as everything is close by and there is so much to do in Whitby itself. Captains Cottage also has wonderful views. We have rented this cottage as an extended family with grandparents and grandchildren and there is plenty of space for everyone. Seating in the lounge is adequate but would benefit from new seating, some of the chairs were quite uncomfortable. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful cottage in a great location.

Beautiful cottage in a great location. Very big inside lots of room for our family of 6 with a toddler. Excellent selection of equipment like Crockery and cutlery. Handy having 2 parking spots,a premium in most seaside towns. Close to all local attractions. Loved and cannot wait to come again.

Fabulous location

Great property in a superb location, with the added bonus of two parking spaces. The house was a good size for us and we’ll laid out. Three bath/shower rooms greatly appreciated when seven people staying! The only gripe would be that it’s not super clean - just okay. The kitchen especially could be doing with a deep clean. However, we didn’t cook in the house and were out for most of the days so it wasn’t of huge importance. It wouldn’t put us off staying again.

3rd time in these beautiful cottages(Bosuns and Captains). Would highly recommend!. Absolutely everything you need inside these cottages and perfect location. Whitby itself is just a stunning place. Will definitely be booking our 4th break asap.
