Beautifully positioned above Goathland, this cottage offers stunning daytime views and an ideal setting for stargazing at night. The property is immaculately presented, and the welcome pack was a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience. The owner deserves high praise for the evident care and effort put into making guests feel at home. Michelle was exceptionally helpful, promptly addressing all of my questions prior to our arrival, and the departure process was seamless.Whitby is a short drive away for a more busy atmosphere and local history.

Xmas Get Together

We had a wonderful stay at this cottage in Goathland. The property was immaculate and the kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed being in the middle of the countryside & enjoyed amazing views. Michelle & Rupert could not have been more helpful with any questions we had. Would highly recommend.

Lovely Weekend

What a fab place!

We stayed here as a hen party group and the house was fantastic, exactly what we needed. Michelle was a great host and was only a quick message away. The views are amazing, house spotlessly clean and plenty of room for us all. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely host, house and location

The host was helpful in sharing information in lead up to our stay, she event brought us a welcome basket on the day of our arrival! House was lovely and clean and in a beautiful setting. Very secluded but stunning views. The facilities were great which included a fantastic hot tub room, a pool room, great kitchen facilities and lots of bathrooms. Overall a perfect weekend for our party of 12 guests!

Wonderful stay

This is the second time we’ve stayed. A family party of 9. Michelle our host is great. Excellent facilities, including a generous number of towels and good kitchen equipment. Welcome basket appreciated. Lovely to have the well maintained hot tub. The track to the house is worse than it was 2 years ago so a bit of a challenge but it’s being repaired this September. We hope to return.

Three generation celebration

Although some of the rooms were on the small side we managed to fit 13 in . The facilities were fine,good hot tub. Super views.Rocky track to property which is about 20 mins from Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay. Can recommend the homestead kitchen in Goathland.Need to book a taxi if going in the evening.Abbey taxis were excellent. We were met by Michelle the owner who took us through everything which was a really nice touch.

Had an absolutely fabulous weekend at this beautiful cottage. Very well equiped, immaculate and luxurious with stunning views. Michelle was so helpful when we arrived with a guided tour and lots of helpful information about the area. Would definitely return!

Fantastic place and great host

Really loved this place. Fantastic house with great facilities and stunning scenery. Host Michelle was great and kept in contact when needed. Very accommodating. Lovely places for a walk and only 15 by car to Whitby. Would happily stay again.

Perfect Spot

This property is fantastic. The views are breathtaking and the comfort incredible. There was everything you need in the cottage for a wonderful stay. If you want to escape everyday life this is for you! Well looked after and the hosts Michelle and Rupert could not be more helpful.

Perfect, tranquil and homely

Had a fantastic family weekend stay for my sisters 50th birthday at Hawthorn Cottage. As previous reviews say the photos don’t do it justice. Everything you could want for a family break. Our party of 13 ranged from 10-74 yrs. michelle is an excellent host and communication throughout was great. About 10 min drive from Goathland village where we had a lovely meal at Mallyan Spout Hotel on Saturday afternoon. 100% recommend and would not hesitate to book again. Thanks michelle and family

Amazing

What a gorgeous property! Perfect for our group of 14 adults/teens/children. Had little touches throughout to make the stay special and we had everything we needed. Host was fab, views are stunning, hot tub (though a bit foamy) was amazing and garden/pool/wii was great for the kids. Other than the fact it was a little tricky to find...and mind the bottom of your car on the track leading up to the house (drive very very slowly!).... I would definitely recommend this property! Have fun!!

A beautiful weekend away

Both Rupert and Michelle were both incredibly helpful during our stay, making sure we had all that we needed throughout. As we didn't have a car and were using buses we were even offered a lift to the supermarket and to the centre of the village with our bags. The location is beautiful and certainly provided a well needed rest for everyone as well as the perfect place for some stargazing! We had trips to Whitby and Robinhood's bay, which were only a few short bus rides away. I would definitely recommend even if you don't drive (which can be a problem in the moors) and are up for some walking!

Birthday weekend

Fabulous time for my birthday with girls, The cottage was amazing & the hot tub was a big bonus & huge….. If your going into Whitby I would advise to pre book you taxis or minibus before your stay…..
