Beachfront Bland Bay tranquility with stunning sea views from sun-drenched deck

Located at Bland Bay, 1 1/4 hours north of Whangarei on the east coast, this 15 year old well-maintained 2 bedroom family bach / holiday house offers the convenience, beauty and peace of a beachfront location and spectacular views of Bland Bay from the 360 degree deck. Stroll 15 metres to main beach or take a 2 minute walk to Whangaruru Harbour.

Wake up to stunning sunrises from the main bedroom, brew a coffee in the Nespresso machine (BYO pods) and get that caffeine fix while sitting on the east-facing deck in the morning sun and follow the sun around the 360 degree deck all day. Enjoy a BBQ on the west facing deck in the afternoon while taking in the stunning sea views.

It is not unusual to be the only person on the beach and dolphins are often seen (and swum with) in the bay.

Fantastic fishing, swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, diving, windsurfing and kitesurfing in the bay and several beautiful bush walks to choose from.

If you are into surfing, Elliot Bay is great surf beach 10 minutes away, and is quite a swell magnet, often surfable when it is flat at Bland Bay.

Pop up to Russell for a nice meal (40 minutes) or cross the ferry to Paihia for more Bay of Islands' activities.

Please note that the nearest shop is in Oakura (30 minutes away), which really only caters for essentials. For more luxurious treats, you need to go to Russell or Whangarei, so we recommend you take all the supplies you think you will need for your stay (and a little more, just in case), as once there you won't want to have to leave for groceries!

Lovely little Bach and has everything you need. Comfy beds, well stocked kitchen and good shower pressure (in world's smallest shower cubicle). Fantastic views, although we didn't get to enjoy them much as the weather wasn't our friend and it rained continually. Had a few wet and wild walks on the beach with the dogs who loved their stay :-).Denise was fantastic to communicate with and the check in/out was easy.Apologies in advance Denise -- as it was pouring with rain when we were packing up the car to leave, the door mat got wet, so I left it to dry on a stool inside. My husband also can't be certain that we separated the glass from the rest of the recycling - sorry, it was a juggling act in the storm!Long trip home after main road out was flooded, so ended up having to go via Russell, take the car ferry and head south from there. An adventure.Would be great to stay at this property in the sunshine!

Our young family had a wonderful time. Nice views and a well setup cosy home. Cluedo was a hit. Couple snapper for dinner fishing off the beach, good times all round.

The house is perfect for a couple or small family who want some time at the beach without crowds or traffic. The house was super clean and tidy when we arrived and the beach is just a few metres away. The only downside is there isn't wifi or great phone coverage which was a bit of a problem when someone drove into us on the main road and we needed to arrange rental cars, insurance follow up, etc.

This was a trip down memory lane for me as I spent my childhood school holidays here. The beach was perhaps even more beautiful than I expected, and the building we stayed in was clean, warm, well-appointed and very homely. Living area is all upstairs, so not suitable for someone who has difficulty with stairs. But perfect for us. Just loved it and would highly recommend.

Has everything you need and more. Tucked away down a cul-de-sac. An awesome deck overlooking the bay, with a BBQ for those summer nights (and winter). Plenty of outdoor space for family & close to the beach for those early AM walks. Would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Bland Bay. The deck was great for catching the sun or for shade depending on the time of day. Bland Bay is such a beautiful location. We kayaked almost everyday and could not believe how clear the water was, like glass. The bach had everything we needed and the location was great, amazing views and so close to the water.

Great place to stay location was excellent, just one small hiccup!! not great communication from the hosts as we never got an email with the address or lockbox number but called book a bach to put us in contact with the host so that we could get the arrival information we needed did think we may have been scammed for a moment but all worked out thankfully and had a great time 😊

What an awesome get away! We all had the most amazing time away blessed with sunny skies, fishing off the beach caught 11 snapper over 3 days. Beach all to ourselves most days and super friendly locals. Our dog loved it just as much as we did. We will be back. Thank you so much!

The position of this property is its selling point. The views to this spectacular bay are out of this world. The house is well equipped - except for heating. A couple of heaters would really improve the experience, especially in winter. Very grateful for the electric blankets! Important to note that all linen (sheets, pillow cases, towels, bath mats, hand towels, tea- towels etc) must be brought by the guest. And on leaving, to make sure that it is as clean as when you arrive - there are no cleaners in Tūparehuia. The remoteness and beauty of this location, however, is worth the effort.
