Quiet location, short walk to beach, with views of Portland and Jurassic coast

Anchor Cottage is a delightful 2 bedroom end of terrace holiday home, just a few minutes walk from sandy Smallmouth cove, offering stunning views over Portland Harbour and Chesil Beach. Located in a quiet and peaceful residential area in Wyke Regis, between Weymouth and the Isle of Portland, this cosy property is situated on the site of a former Torpedo Factory.
The cottage has been decorated and comfortably furnished to a high standard with a new bathroom and kitchen installed. On the ground floor, just off the entrance lobby there is a fully equipped kitchen and a lounge with dining area. The lounge has a dining table, Smart TV, a 3 seater sofa and armchair, with patio doors leading to a secluded pebbled garden with furniture and a raised decked area with views over Chesil Beach and Isle of Portland. A good sized shed is available for storage of bikes and a charcoal BBQ is available.
Upstairs there's a bedroom with a king sized bed with views over Portland Harbour with beautiful sunrises and the second bedroom has a choice of either a ‘zip and link’ superking bed or 2 singles. There is a bathroom with an electric shower over the bath. The property offers gas central heating, electricity and WiFi, and all linen is included.
Guests are welcomed with tea, Nespresso coffee, milk and biscuits. There is off road parking for two cars. There is a selection of guidebooks to use during your stay.

The South West Coastal Path is just 200 yards away and offers stunning views across the harbour and along the famous Chesil Beach which is a 10 minute walk away. A 2 minute walk away is the lovely Rodwell Trail, a 2 mile converted railway track for cycling/walking into Weymouth or visiting the iconic Sandsfoot Castle ruins, garden and cafe with scenic views. Sailing, windsurfing, sea fishing and diving are all available nearby with the Olympic Sailing Academy situated in the harbour. You can enjoy a scenic coastal walk to Portland Castle stopping off at the Wild Chesil Visitor Centre for birdwatching over the Fleet lagoon or a visit to the cafe. Shops, a pub and restaurants/takeaways are within walking distance in the village. Nearby attractions in Weymouth include it's award-winning sandy beach, Sea Life Centre, Pavilion Theatre, Nothe Fort, and RSPB reserves. Within easy driving distance is the Jurassic Coast, the Isle of Portland and Portland Bill, Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens, Monkey World, Tank Museum, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and the Isle of Purbeck.

Great base for exploring Dorset coast

Nice, very quiet end of terrace home in a lovely location. We enjoyed the Portland / Wyke experience and the friendly locals. Recommend The Cove for a very tasty meal and pint, and Flavours of Asia for Indian takeaway. Both really excellent. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Would recommend for a couple or a small family

Lovely cottage

Lovely clean, comfortable cottage with everything you need. Was quiet during our stay, with friendly neighbours. View of sea from bedroom and walking distance to Chesil Beach, but also close to Weymouth Beach. Perfect base to explore other areas such as Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis.

A perfect accomodation in a wonderful area

We spent a week at Anchor Cottage and enjoyed it very much. The house is well-equipped and very comfortable. It‘s easy to feel at home quickly. It‘s a very good location to visit Weymouth, Chesil Beach and Portland. We also went to Durdle Door and visited Abbotsbury Swannery and Tropical Gardens.

Lovely cottage clean and welcoming. Everything you need like home from home. Well placed for visiting different places. Great view of the coastline. Great if your a walker or cylist have the Rodwell Trail on your doorstep.

Schönes kleines Haus für Minibreak

Nahe der Halbinsel und wenigen Fahrminuten nach Weymouth gelegen war das kleine Häuschen für unseren Minibreak die perfekte Wahl. Es war klein und doch hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Für ein Paar genau die richtige Größe. Die Jurasic Coast und das Hinterland locken zu Zahlreichen Ausflügen. Die voll ausgestattete Küche haben wir nur für das Frühstück genutzt, da wir eigentlich die ganze Zeit unterwegs waren. Es war sehr ruhig und erholsam.

Great Location

Tucked away just off the Rodwell Trail means that you can easily walk into Weymouth or Portland whilst enjoying some lovely views. Then you get to come back to this lovely home to relax in. It provided everything that we were looking for, clean with comfortable beds and sofa. Communication from Suzanne was very good, ensuring that we had all of the information that we needed.
