Enjoy the relaxation of chic seaside living in a sea view stone villa

Villa Pelagia is a spacious house built in local stone. Tucked away in a quiet corner of the popular resort of Stoupa, it’s just an hour and fifteen minutes from Kalamata Airport. For the intrepid, there is direct access to the sea via a rocky path. The nearest sandy beach is two minutes walk away, with the main beaches of Stoupa Bay and the glamorous Kalogria approximately five minutes away. Its unique position on the headland between these two beaches combines seclusion with convenience. There are lots of traditional tavernas and lively bars within easy walking distance.

A luxurious holiday home designed for a couple but with ample accommodation for an extra adult or child, the villa is beautifully appointed throughout. The spacious living room features an open fireplace and combines comfort with many stylish design elements. Large French windows open onto a furnished terrace facing the sea, with a sunbathing area just in front.

The bespoke kitchen has been built in natural wood by a local craftsman. As well as essentials like a full size cooker, a large fridge freezer, a kettle, a toaster and coffee machine, there is an integrated dishwasher and a washing machine.

The flat screen TV is discreetly wall mounted, and has a USB port. There is also a radio unit with USB and Bluetooth, so you can bring your favourite films and music with you.

The ground floor is provided with a stylish shower room and a small wardrobe for the comfort of guests sleeping downstairs.

Upstairs the stunning master bedroom features a large freestanding bathtub, with a separate shower room and a WC. Ample storage is provided and there is also a small suntrap terrace off the bedroom.

With complimentary wifi provided, you can enjoy the seclusion of the villa without feeling cut off from the world.

Stoupa has two beautiful sandy beaches, Stoupa Bay and Kalogria. Sheltered by the dramatic backdrop of the Taygetos mountain range, Stoupa enjoys a microclimate that is among the warmest in Europe. Fresh water flowing underground is released offshore and keeps the water cool and clean for bathers. There are several excellent tavernas in Stoupa serving traditional Greek fare based on our wonderful local produce, as well as coffee bars, gift shops, supermarkets, cash dispensers and a chemist. There are two doctor’s surgeries in Stoupa, and a 24 hour clinic in Agios Nikolaos (4 kms away) plus a local dentist.

Car Hire, Bicycle Rental and excursions by coach are all available from local agents in Stoupa. There is a PADI approved dive school based on Kalogria and yoga and mosaic courses are available locally. Visitors can join local residents on organised walks, or simply explore the wonderful landscape at your own pace.

Stoupa is ideally placed for exploring many places of classical and historic interest such as Ancient Olympia, Byzantine Mystras, Monemvasia, Mount Ithomi and of course the spectacular Diros caves and the wild Mani Peninsula.

With short, mild winters, the Mani is perfect for off-season walking, cycling or motoring holidays. In November and December you can enjoy the buzz of the olive harvest going on around you, while writers and artists are drawn to Stoupa all year round.

An Absolutely Outstanding Stay 14th-21st May 2025!

I cannot say enough about our stay here! The communication with Mary, the host, was excellent. This villa is absolutely outstanding! Mary has thought of everything as this is a home away from home with everything you need (inc dishwasher and washing machine) - her personal touch was most welcome from the provision of food and beverages (including home made wine) right down to luxury toiletries. Its stunning and the location is just perfect, surrounded by the ocean and in walking distance to all beaches and tavernas offering wonderful service and food, not to mention friendship. If Mary wasn't available for any reason, her mum would come to see us - just such a lovely family! If you're looking for luxury accommodation and a romantic holiday for two, this is definitely the ideal accommodation. Thank you so much Mary, for making our first stay in Stoupa a wonderful experience!

Stunning little castle at the sea ;-)

We had a wonderful stay for 5 nights at the house. The location is perfect, you can overlook and nearly touch the sea, it is calm and private, whereas within 2 min walk you are at the beautiful Stoupa beach. The house was spotless clean and very well equipped. It was lovely decorated with fresh flowers. There was a very kind welcome basket which was very much appreciated. The communication with the owner was very helpful and very quick responsive. We enjoyed our stay very very much and love to come back one time. Thank you, Maria, for your great hospitality.

Lovely Villa

As stated in other reviews, the pics do not do this place justice. It is a beautiful villa that is very romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Safe, sea view, welcoming, beautiful grounds, off street parking, quiet, spacious, walking distance to Stoupa beach and Kalorgias beach. Also very close to Enigma cafe for a coffee in the morning if you don’t want to make your own. The place is fully stocked with appliances.

The property is better than the pictures and the location is fantastic - close to top beaches / swimming spots and lots of restaurants. Very clean and very well maintained also the owners were always on hand if needed. Would definitely return.

Superlative in every respect. The rental surpassed our expectations. Super, sophisticated aesthetic, every touchpoint was elegant, thoughtful, chic. A stocked kitchen with condiments, cafe, teas, fruit, water. A lovely surprise. The location CANNOT BE BETTER!! On the water, a short walk to the LOVELIEST beach and the finest restaurant on Stoupa. Ilastres. I cannot recommend strongly enough. And the family renting to us made check-in super simple. Arrival email was perfect. Highly recommend and know I will return in the future.

Great place to stay and relax

The villa is only a few minutes walk to two stunning beaches and a number of great restaurants but you feel as though you are miles away from everything. The villa has a great outlook and is so peaceful. The owners are lovely and can’t do enough to help you, even a homemade apple pie waiting in the kitchen! Thanks you Katerina. We will return.

This was our second stay at Maria's Villa. Fantastic location - so private and quiet yet right by the sea and very handy for restaurants. The villa is extremely clean and well maintained and Maria was an excellent host, providing us with a well stocked fridge. We'll be back!

Fantastic villa

We had a marvellous stay at Maria's villa. It is in the best possible location - very quiet and private yet yards from the beach and our favourite restaurant. Inside it was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Maria supplied a very well stocked fridge which was great and saved us having to shop immediately. A cleaner came every day (always managing to time it when we were out) to make the bed and change the towels. We hope to return!

Home away from home

This is a terrific little villa in Stoupa and is immaculate in every way. Furnishings are excellent and cleanliness is outstanding. Maria and her wonderful mother have provided a superb holiday accommodation which is right on the doorstep of many restaurants and bars and excellent beaches in Stoupa itself but our preferred one, round the headland into Kalogria. The information provided is entirely accurate and Maria and her team went out of their way to provide groceries for when we arrived including salad, milk, bread, coffee, beer, wine and soft drinks along with locally produced jam and a very smooth olive oil. Cannot fault her on this and a nice surprise after a long journey saving us from having to go shopping. That said two supermarkets at end of road and two bakeries in Stoupa village. We had a mini crisis when one of the shower taps sprung a leak and was jetting our boiling hot water. No problem for Maria’s mother who turned off water and had a plumber out and fixed the issue within 30 mins...amazing! All in all Avery pleasant week stay and it is highly recommended as a location and accommodation. Jeremy & Dawn

Truly wonderful villa for a couple.

Wonderful location. Peaceful with sea view and garden, yet minutes from Stoupa and its tavernas and beach. Villa has everything you could need and best stocked fridge that you could wish for. Wonderful welcome. Would go back n a heartbeat. Thoroughly recommend.

Even better than in the description

We had awesome holidays in Greece and really enjoyed the time in the house. It is a luxury house which is worth the prize. The interior is very beautiful and stylish and we had everything we needed: own parking spot, oven, fridge and refrigerator, all you need for cooking, dishwasher, washing machine, towels and toilet paper, hairdryer, air conditioner and a lot of privacy. The house includes all the service you get in a hotel. When we were gone during the day we got new towels and everything was cleaned and bed was made. Maria welcomed us very friendly and with wine and a full fridge. The house is located at a very beautiful and quiet spot right at the ocean and a 2 minutes walk to the beach. Stoupa itself is a cute little village and we could do a lot of daytrips in the area and around the Peloponnes. I can really recommend Areopoli and if you want to go on longer day trips Olympia, Monemvasia and Nafplio in combination with Epidauros. Those places are really special and worth to drive to. Thank you Maria for everything!

eine gemütliche Ruheoase - ideal für eine Auszeit

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Marias Mutter mit selbstgebackenem Kuchen und kleinen griechischen Köstlichkeiten sowie Erfrischungen im Kühlschrank begrüßt. Das Haus ist sehr gemütlich und äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichtet, alles mit viel Liebe durchdacht. Der Wohnraum mit schöner, bequemer Sitzecke und Ess- und Kochbereich ist einladend. Die Bäder sind sehr liebevoll gestaltet und auch der obere Schlafraum strahlt eine angenehme Atmosphäre wieder. Das Bett ist sehr gut und die Schränke bieten viel Plaz um sich gut einzurichten. Schön auch die Badewanne im Schlafzimmer. Alles ist sehr sauber und wird regelmäßig gereinigt und Handtücher und Bettwäsche werden regelmäßig gewechselt. Unten ist eine Terrasse, man ist ganz für sich und hat einen wunderbaren Ausblick aufs Meer. Vom oberen kleinen Balkon aus kann man die Morgensonne genießen - besonders im Herbst. Das Haus ist ideal für 2 Personen die Ruhe in einer behaglichen Atmosphäre suchen und ideal für einen Ausstieg aus der Hektik des Berufsalltags. Auch zum Strand und zu einer schönen Taverne sind es nur wenige Minuten. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können diese Adresse gerne weiterempfehlen.
