"Well equipped and clean house just above the quayside on a narrow and quiet street. The town is on the steep sides of the estuary so it’s not surprising there are a lot of steps (21) up to the front door, but it’s awkward with large luggage. The house itself is on 5 levels with 5 or 6 stairs between each floor. Parking scratch cards are provided for use at nearby public car parks which are a few minutes walk away. "Our group of 4 adults had a wonderful stay in this central and very convenient location. Well equipped kitchen and beautiful bedrooms. Only comment would be that the living room rug clearly hadn't been hoovered after the previous visitors left. Cleaned to a high standard elsewhere."

"We were very disappointed at state of the garden as it was very overgrown and outside garden furniture was rusty and very dirty. We could not sit on the chairs and really could not sit out in garden which was disappointing as the main reason to book the cottage was the outside area. The photos online were not a true image of the cottage as it is tiny. Kitchen is tired and we would not stay at this cottage again."

"The property was clean and well equipped and ideal for our 3 day stay. Information about parking could have been made clearer and is not intuitive. It is in the property but needs to be looked for. There is one very tight space outside the property, which most of the time we couldn't get our car in to. The parking arrangements around Whitby are complicated and a little more forewarning and explanation about this would be helpful. We got a parking ticket because of our lack of understanding...

"Had a leak on the central heating which got worse the first night and left us with no heating and hot water .left for home the next day as no other property could be found for us . Ruined the new year celebrations"

"Bedford House was amazing, the owners were fantastic, we had to change our dates at short notice they were very accommodating, thank you, we had a lovely 3 night stay and could have stayed longer, we were very lucky with the weather, we would absolutely recommend Bedford House but would not book through Hotels.com again, absolute nightmare of a company, when we tried to change our dates they told us that they could not do it as they could not contact the owners so we looked them up on their...

"We spent 3 nights here (myself and my two young sons). This cottage was plenty big enough with everything we needed and lovely and clean. The boys loved that they had their own floor with a shower room and also the best views of the harbour! The designated parking space was tiny and I had to pay to park in a public car park the whole time instead (at time of writing that is £9/24hrs in any car park, which isn’t bad). "The accommodation was absolutely amazing, it was very clean and the little touches the owners left was so lovely - the tea/coffee, toiletries etc. Communication up to the stay was excellent, they kept in touch regularly and if we had any questions, we’re very efficient advising us. Would definitely recommend."
