Thai Views | Wat Khao Takiap: Though I have been living in the Asia for about 8 years and with a majority of Asian nations being predominantly Buddhist, I have never truly looked into the practice. Sure, I’m vaguely familiar with the meditation and enlightenment aspect of it but that has been the limits of my knowledge. Recently I have decided to take a deeper look at the practice and in turn a deeper look into myself.

At the core of Buddhism are The four Noble Truths, the first of which being that in life there is suffering. However the teachings guides you through the reasons for suffering and how to end suffering. One major cause to human suffering is our desire, craving such things as material goods and then leading to our attachment to them. With this identified one can choose to crave less and understand that the only thing permanent in life is impermanence. All that we have now will not last forever so why get attached to them when they will only cause us suffering when they are gone. I’m not talking on a superficial level that is only thought about in times of crisis but on a day to day basis.

Looking at this monk walking on the beach at the crack of dawn in only a robe and without shoes, I get it now. I don’t think I could be as disciplined as this but I got to start somewhere.

"Vi tilbragte ni dage på et hotel i den rolige del af Hua Hin, tæt ved Monkey Mountain. Beliggenheden er fredelig, og hotellet ligger tilbagetrukket fra vejen, så man ikke hører trafikken. "Good-sized rooms in the very quiet south most end of town. Nice touches like bathtub, free minibar items, and in-room air cleaner. Big wooden balcony overlooking the sparkling pool. Excellent cook-to-order breakfast. Friendly staff. Charming small coffee shop right next door. Great spot for a romantic getaway. "

"I have stayed at this property many times in the past and enjoy it then. Now the new interior designs are excellent. Very tastefully done and a nice matching of nature in the interior wallpapers and decor that match perfectly with the grounds of the property. The location is quiet and a nice escape from the hustle bustle of Bangkok. I'll be back! "

"Wura Bura has old world charm all over, from the warm welcome by the staff to the old world feel of the decor gives you a sense of nostalgia. "This property was in the middle of Hua Hin, but the foliage of the property made it feel like you were on an isolated island. Wonderful beach access and just a really short walk to the Cicada weekend night market. Beds were comfortable. We did have ants in our room, but they were really quick to accommodate a room change. Property seems to be very well managed with a really nice staff. "

"The staff is excellent. While the resort is not modern, it is functional and ideally located. Dining options are great, and having both the Tamarind Markeks and Cicarda Markets located at the entrance to the Soi is great. Transport into the heart of the city of Hua Hin is close by and regular."
