BEAUTIFUL! Beautiful home and location. The owners made sure the driveway was scraped for us since there was snow. Such a wonderful stay. The view is amazing and so close to Boone or Blowing Rock.

Ski weekend ‘23

Well appointed, cozy, nicely decorated home. Nice neighborhood. Would rent again when in the area.

The property was simply studying. The views were amazing and the architecture incredible. There’s so many wonderful things about this place. It was far enough away, but close to many attractions. We had nine people representing three generations during our June stay. It did get a little warm and the house is evidently built more for winter stays because the AC had trouble keeping up. Another cork was that the master shower – which is phenomenal and has six showerheads – was incredibly hot. There is no cold option and we had to turn the hot water down as far as it would go to make it partially bearable. It’s a shame because the concept – other than the water temperature – is wonderful. Still but the place is almost out of a storybook. I would definitely stay again Anytime – just probably not in the heat of summer.

Can’t wait to go back!

This house was perfect for a girl’s trip reunion. There were 11 of us. We had plenty of space. Our favorite thing to do was sit around the coffee table on the super cozy couches and talk and talk. The house was gorgeous! The views were breath taking. The floor to ceiling, wall to wall window allowed access to view the gorgeous mountains all day long. The house is equipped with absolutely everything you need to feel at home. If you’re a Disney fan, you’ll love all the little Disney accents all through the house. One of our girls is a Disney Travel Agent, so she got a big kick out of it. There’s s picnic table and another table out on the deck to use. I suggest bringing a few extra camping chairs If you plan on spending a lot of time out there taking in the views. My only complaint is there were a very large number of dead flies all over the house, especially by the windows. Other than that, we are looking forward to going back again next year!

Beautiful view - close to town

We stayed here for 5 days in February. The location was perfect for us - removed from town but close enough to take advantage of downtown Boone. The view was spectacular from the home. You will not get tired of looking out the large windows in the living room. The kitchen was well equipped. We enjoyed the large master suite, complete with a steam shower. Would definitely recommend.

Pleasant Stay

We had a wonderful time at the Wilderness Lodge Cabin. We had a group of eight and everyone was able to have their own room. The cabin was in very good condition and came with most everything you needed for your stay. The cabin is at the top of the hill which gives you the most majestic views of the surrounding mountains. A four wheel drive vehicle kept the climb up nice and safe. We all really appreciated the Disney touches throughout the cabin. None of them were too over the top to put off any of your non-Disney loving guests. We used most every amenity the cabin had to offer. There were a few cons to the cabin. The clothes dryer was non-functional and this was not communicated to us. The remotes in each room were not always labeled or functional. (Spare batteries were not available when we arrived) The TV with the PS4 and Nintendo Wii was not very functional (in demo mode without a remote to control it). Overall, I would stay in this cabin again without hesitation. I think it would be even better to visit in the Spring when you don't have the possibility of attraction closures due to snow and ice.

Winter getaway

First off, I will start by saying this home is beautiful- it is situated on the top of a hill with unbelievable views. It is well stocked with anything you may think you need - sleds for sleigh riding, kitchen utensils, etc... A few things I did notice was it was not as clean as I would have liked- they have a few throw rugs around and one in particular in the den looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in a while- I was thrilled to find a vacuum tucked away in a closet on Friday! There was smeared food on one of the kitchen cabinets that I cleaned off and just some things were dusty- no biggie but the rugs were a little concerning. The dryer did not work and blew out cold air- Carolina Cabin rentals was great with this when I called them but since we were there during the most recent snow storm they were not able to get up the hill to fix it so they gave me a credit back- again- not really a big deal but when you want to dry up your wet snow clothes- its a problem. Biggest problem of all is the neighbor! LOL! This woman is nasty- we had 4 boys with us (not really boys- age 20) who were enjoying the snow and sledding along with some little neighbor kids and their mom- This woman comes out yelling at my son and his friends who politely say "Ok- no prob" and she then unleashes on the little 8 year old boy- screaming obscenities at him and whatnot making him cry- Well now an argument ensues with the little boys mom and the mean neighbor- The mom takes the kids home and the mean lady proceeds to stick a private property sign on the lawn- (Its hard to decipher whose property is whose in the snow) The boys decide to build a large snow hump in front of the sign so they dont make her mad and she proceeds to come back outside and take pictures of them with her camera (I was outside and saw the whole thing) Long story short- we knocked the hump down and went to another hill down the road. We loved Boone, again, the house location was awesome except for the next door neighbor! I would also use Carolina Cabin rentals again in a heartbeat as everything ran very smoothly. Thank You

Wilderness Lodge

The house was great. Plenty of room. Beautiful views. Loved the game room. Would definitely come again. Only complaint would be the cleaning crew. Sadly, when we arrived, the first thing I noticed was how filthy the floors were on the main floor. Before we brought our stuff in, I had to sweep the entire main floor. Crumbs everywhere, in the kitchen all around the table and on the dining room chairs. Even into the LR on the couches and on the area rug. Sad there was no vacuum. It seemed like cake or donuts as I was seeing colorful sprinkles in the crumbs. Other than the lack of cleaning floors, it seemed clean and we had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

Great location and cabin. Only issues I would suggest is a better cleaning option.. None of the bathroom were clean and it was mold in the hot tub as well as coffee makers. Few minor issues.. But yes the cleaning was very poor throughout the cabin. With Covid I shud have been done a lot better.

A note to rental company

Great location! Great views! Very large spacious home! Needs more gliders on porch; needs a deep clean all over; needs updated pots and pans with better organization( i do realize it gets messed up with all the renters but it’s a mess) master bed downstairs splits down middle all night( i was excited about sleep number like mine at home- not like mine at home🤦🏼‍♀️ Remotes don’t work ; blah) Tvs need to more user friendly along with music system( better directions- we had tech savvy guys with us... without them it’s a mess); Disney theme weird ... Please note this is meant to be helpful not hurtful... we had a great time anyway! Thank you!

Wonderful Property

Everything about the property was top shelf. The house, the views and all of the amenities were fantastic and actually better than advertised. We will most certainly stay here again. Our only issue was with check in. We were told 4 pm but werent allowed in until after 6 pm. Cleaning/scheduling issues that had nothing to do with the property itself. We were promised some sort of compensation for the delay, but havent heard back from Carolina Cabins regarding what sort of compensation we are to expect.

Recent Stay

The views are amazing and the house is gorgeous. The kitchen has everything you could need. Unfortunately, this house was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival. Dead bugs were found in all rooms indicating it had not been vacuumed between renters. A wet dirty washcloth/rag was found on the floor in the master bathroom. Lights were out in most bathrooms. The management company was contacted and was very apologia. They offered to send out cleaning crew but all guests had arrived so we refused service and cleaned it ourselves. The management company sent a repairman out to replace burned out lightbulb in master bathroom the next day.

Beautiful mountaintop home with great panoramic view!

Beautiful property, very open and spacious, well furnished and equipped, perfect for large group of 10-12. Had to tweak a few small things (buy extra paper products, clean grease pan in grill, fix shower door and spigot, twin room cold, lightbulb out). But overall a great “Disney” experience.

Big vistas in Vilas

Very roomy house, with incredible views. During our stay the weather was spectacular. Just a couple areas of suggestion, more chairs on the porch, as the house is fairly large, accommodate a lot of people, but only two rocking chairs on the porch, and only six can eat on the outside table.

Such a beautiful home! One of the highest quality homes we've stayed in and the location was great, very central to everything we were doing. Plenty of space for our group of 9. The views are just spectacular.
