The Cliffside Oar House is ready to welcome you aboard! This spacious, coastal/nautical-themed home sits on 2.15 wooded acres in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the scenic Vermilion River. Just 1.7 miles from the public boat/kayak/canoe launch and 2 miles from gorgeous Main Street Beach on Lake Erie. Picturesque Downtown Vermilion offers many dining, shopping, and entertainment options. The home has 6 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, with plenty of room to spread out and relax! Over 4400+ sq ft complete with private 30x16 heated indoor pool. Two-story foyer welcomes you into the formal living room with decorative fireplace. Dining room with bay window showcases the park-like setting of the back yard. First floor bedroom with queen sized bed, attached private wheelchair-accessible bathroom with roll-in shower, raised sink, and grab-bars. Open kitchen with Jenn Aire cooktop, double wall oven, wine/beverage fridge, Keurig Duo (assortment of coffee/tea provided). Large family room with custom decorative spiral staircase, 2 story brick fireplace, skylight, 75 inch smart tv, and unique nautical oak overlook from second floor. Game room with standup/sit down arcade games, and card/dining table. Game room is connected to the indoor pool room. The pool room is stocked with games, goggles, and towels. PLEASE NOTE—we do not provide floats/life jackets. Ample lighting (disco lights!) for night swimming, and attached Jack and Jill half bath. Second floor offers 5 large bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Master bedroom with king canopy bed, decorative fireplace, and en suite. 3 additional upstairs bedrooms ALL with king beds and Keurig coffee makers. Upstairs kids’-themed bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds, and reading/lounging alcove with lots of pillows! Pets are welcome (must be leashed at all times when outside). Large driveway with plenty of room for cars, boat trailers, and pull-behinds.
**Please note**
-Absolutely NO PARTIES or “gatherings” are permitted! The home is in a QUIET neighborhood, and excessive noise will not be tolerated whatsoever.
-Video cameras (with audio) are recording the entire EXTERIOR perimeter of the property at all times. Cameras are located on the attached garage, rear pool room doors, and front/rear entrance doors. Any attempts at disabling or covering cameras will result in your reservation being cancelled immediately.
-Third party bookings are not permitted.
-Please read the house rules prior to booking this property. Any violation of house rules (both in this listing, as well as in the House Rules/Guest Info binder) will be reported, and the reservation will be cancelled immediately with no refund given. A copy of the binder can be sent to you via email prior to booking. Once your reservation is approved, it is understood that you and your entire party agree with all house rules.

-Due to our strict cancellation policy, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE!! NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED OUTSIDE OF STATED CANCELLATION WINDOW.
-No refunds will be given for utility/internet outages, inclement weather, or anything we determine to be outside of our control.
-Any attempts at credit card charge-backs/obtaining a refund during/after your stay will be disputed and handled by our attorney, so please reach out immediately with any questions or issues during your stay.
-Repairs and maintenance might affect availability of listed amenities, and are not grounds for a refund.
-Pets are not permitted in the pool. -Delivery of packages and or mail is NOT permitted without prior written approval from property owner.

Residential resort

Our extended family was in the area for aFuneral. The home worked out great with the kids room as well as so many king beds. The kitchen has everything you could ever want. We were very comfortable.

Wonderful place.

Communication with the host was excellent. We have 3 generations staying here for Thanksgiving (86 to 18 months). This home worked out so well. Lots of game playing, swimming and walks in a very nice neighborhood. Allowing the dog's was a great bonus

Best place ever!!!

Another absolutely amazing stay. Susan made us feel so welcome with so many personal touches. We were greeted with a basket specific for our family with so many fun goodies for both kids and adults. She had made sure we had tons of kid related craft options, including crayons, markers, notebooks, baby toys for our little ones, fun extra snacks including s’more packet. It was like Christmas in August and it made our stay so special. The house is gorgeous, well stocked with paper products. Rooms clean and the pool is the best ever. Also stocked with toys the kids could play with in the pool. Game room is epic. Susan has a heart for family, best host ever. Thank you Ruth Ridley

Amazing Family Time!

Our group consisted of ten people age 2 to 86 and two dogs. We had a wonderful, relaxing time! There was plenty of room for us all to be comfortable. We really enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and our pool time. Thank you for the precious family memories together.

Best rental for a diverse group, something for everyone

The kids really enjoyed the pool, they will be wanting to go back again, it was actually warm enough for me too, that’s a first! There is so much to do in the area, a long weekend wasn’t enough!

A wonderful place to get away

The house is located in a nice neighborhood and has all the amenities anyone could ask for. The indoor pool was a huge hit and the property couldn’t have been better. The downtown area was not far away and we had an absolute blast Went there for a weekend getaway w just our kids and grandkids and this was a perfect place to reconnect and focus on our family. Could not recommend this place more. The host, Sue, was outstanding in not only communication with us but also in making sure there was everything we needed. Amazing property convenient to Vermilion

It's hard to appreciate exactly how beautiful this home is until you've been there. The street is quiet and lovely, the kids loved the indoor pool and arcade, and it was convenient to Vermilion. If you're looking for a multi-family getaway close to the lake, look no further. This is it.

Great Spring Break Stay

Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We had 3 generations of family staying and everyone had space to enjoy and create memories together. Everyone loved the pool and game room and the welcome donuts were such a kind touch. The kids loved all the toys and special space in their room.

Great extended family stay

We loved our time in this house. The pool area is so great and the pool is huge. The kitchen is fully stocked. The bedrooms accommodated our three family group easily. Host was always available though we had no issues. We will def be back!!!

Winter Family Fun

We rented Sue’s place to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary with just her 2 daughters, their husbands and their 4 grand children … the bonus was our furry family too. The kids obviously loved the pool and the game room, but we just all loved having space to be together and relax. Sue is a real professional and was so helpful. We appreciate her and would recommend. Happy New Year! P.S. my niece wanted me to say the little closet cubby was her favorite.

Where family memories are made.....

This was our second time staying at this amazing home. The number one reason to go is Sue, she is an amazing hostess. Communication is tops, always available to help in any way. She has a heart for families and wants to make sure it is magical for family memories. The house is very nice, clean, well-stocked with TP, paper towels and all the kitchen utensils you will ever need. All the bedrooms are lovely, very comfortable beds. Several areas to congregate. The pool is perfect, stocked with tons of swimming noodles, floats, you name it. I think our kids enjoyed picking through all the toys as much as swimming. Tons of towels, both for the pool and in each room. The laundry room has great washer/dryer and stocked with laundry detergent. Ohhhh also you are greeted with the best welcome basket full of goodies. We also love the location, Vermilion is such a unique town on the coast, we love all the local restaurants, the beach, all the stores. Thank you for giving us this gorgeous worry-free time in your beautiful home.

The house was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The pool was awesome and the kids’ favorite thing by far. We spent a lot of time in the game room as well. Anniversary gift to ourselves

We spent our 46th Anniversary with our children and grandchildren. The vacation home was great. Our homeowner was very kind and accommodating. We spent time in the pool every day. The bedrooms were comfortable and beautifully decorated. I thank our host for having a clean refrigerator! We even spent time on the beach! Thank you Sue for making our 46th Anniversary memorable.
