Oceanfront Villa In A Beach-lover's And Surfer's Paradise

This amazing villa is just a few steps from the Pacific Ocean. Located in Playa Negra, one of the best surfing beaches in the world, Villa Floramar offers modern amenities in a magical tropical setting.

A welcome dinner and breakfast is included with your stay.

The villa was completely renovated in 2014 to a very high standard.

The villa is surrounded by a wall of local stone. On entry, you step into a lush tropical garden with a lovely fountain. As you enter the villa, you walk into an open plan kitchen, dining and living rooms. The kitchen, living and dining space has air conditioning. The living room has cable TV and a DVR. All of the appliances are brand new.

The front of the house is a wall of windows, which slide open to the terrace and the infinity pool beyond. It is indoor/outdoor living at its best. The 45' infinity pool is right off of the terrace.

To the right of the terrace is a gazebo with a king-sized bed and couch.

One of the two master bedroom suites is located just off the terrace, with a full ocean view and a private outdoor shower made out of local stone.

There is a half-bath and outdoor shower on the ground floor.

The tiled staircase to the second floor leads to a balcony that extends the width of the house. From the balcony, you have nearly limitless views of the Playa Negra coast and beyond. It's a perfect place to nap on the 2 sofas or to watch 'surfer channel' -- nearly every day there are surfers just in front of the villa.

There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor. There is a second master bedroom suite with floor-to-ceiling windows with uninterrupted views of the Pacific, a walk-in closet and en-suite bathroom with shower. This bedroom also features a day bed.

The third bedroom, in the back of the house, has a garden and mountain view, with exclusive use of a hall bathroom. The fourth bedroom has a garden and mountain view, with an en-suite bathroom.

The bedrooms are luxuriously decorated, with local wood, art and decor.

On the second floor, in addition to the 3 bedrooms, there are 2 seating areas, 1 with cable TV, as well as a small refrigerator and coffee maker.

All of the bedrooms have king-sized beds, remote-controlled air conditioning, ceiling fans and coded safes for your valuables.

There is a 2 car garage, with an automatic garage door opener and storage for your surfboards. There is a laundry room attached to the garage, which our guests are welcome to use.

The entry to the property is gated, with an automatic (code needed) gate opener.

The villa has a full security system.

The villa comes with concierge service. They will be near by to help you throughout your stay. They can recommend and help book local attractions, arrange for a private chef or massage. The concierge will also help you set up your welcome dinner and breakfast, that is included.

There is daily maid service at the time you specify with our concierge. There is daily pool and garden service as well.

There are wonderful private chefs available for any event, be it a simple dinner in the villa or a cocktail party.

We really loved everything about the house. The views were absolutely amazing and the pool was the largest of any house we have rented. Any questions we had were answered immediatly. One very pleasant surprise was a welcome dinner and breakfast by a private chef at the house, both meals were amazing. Be aware Playa Negra is not Tamarindo meaning it is pretty remote. We went there for that reason.... super chill. Just dont expect a long list of restaurant or shopping options nearby.

We can’t say enough good things about our time at Villa Floramar! Amazing property, with amazing hosts. The casual vibe of Playa Negra coupled with the comfortable amenities of this home was the perfect blend of having a luxurious place to stay while still living amongst the locals who live a breath the “Pura Vida” lifestyle. We strongly recommend this spot, and highly recommend taking them up on as many meals by Chef Laura as possible. Such a joy and so many wonderful family memories.

This place is amazing. It has everything you would want in a beach house. It’s on a great beach, it’s safe, the view a great, pool is perfect to watch surfers and more. The housekeeper daily was fantastic. We had 3/4 of our meals prepared at the house, no regrets. It was actually cheaper for us to eat in with a prepared meal versus go out with our family of 5. Really great stay and we would do it over and over again.

Five stars is not enough! Second time staying at this house. Laura the chef is wonderful and we love the privacy the house offers. We will be coming back again and again! Communication with host was very easy and quick. Love everything about this house and location.

The house was perfect for three couples and had an extra bedroom and bath to spare. The outside patio and pool area is really nice to watch the water, visit or play in the pool. Walking to the beach is right off the pool. The location is great on the beach and the restaurants were really good but we also had Garrett come do two meals for us and then also cooked some ourselves at the house. All AC units worked great including in the main area of the house. This was our first time to Costa Rica so you need to get used to the gravel roads but after a few days you start to settle into the area and infrastructure. The house is located in a gated area with a guard posted 24/7. Playa Negra is a small community but we were able to fish go on hikes and recommend a rental car in order to see more of the country.

What a Treat!

Villa Floramar is an amazing rental with plenty of space both indoors and out. Our family of 7 felt immediately at home and we spent as much time outdoors as possible. Mike and PJ (onsite help) were fantastic and really came to the rescue when there was a mix up with our grocery delivery the first day. Jarrod and Meaghan (property managers) were also very attentive and great to work with. Our only feedback/word of caution is that the main living area (kitchen, dining, and living room) does not have A/C. This prevented a bit of a bummer when wanting to sit inside--but we made it work! We would definitely recommend this location overall and we will always cherish the amazing memories that were made while staying here.

We enjoyed a family vacation at this spacious villa to celebrate my 70th birthday. The location and views were spectacular. Zoe was helpful and responsive. I’d highly recommend a vacation here.

Spectacular!

This property exceeded our expectations and then some! The location is private, secluded, and surrounded by a lush, tropical oasis. Just steps from a beautiful black lava rock beach where my children spent hours exploring the tidepools and collecting seashells. A short distance south of us was a beautiful sandy beach and the quaint Hotel Playa Negra where we spent a few evenings enjoying happy hour appetizers and drinks. The house itself was exactly as advertised. Clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for our group of eight. The outdoor patio is stunning and is where we spent most of our time enjoying our meals and the beautiful infinity pool. The concierge Zoe and chef Laura were amazing! We couldn't have ask for a better vacation! We will definitely be back!

Perfection

I can’t say enough about how great this house is and the location. The ability to walk out on the porch every morning and watch the waves roll in was perfect. Having a surf spot right in front of your house is every surfers dream. The house is so pretty and the open air concept in the living room out onto the porch is a dream. The furnishings are lovely and comfortable, with the swinging porch bed the favorite. Can’t say enough about porch!!!! We loved the location not being near a big city or resorts. The beach was beautiful and not crowded at all. We felt very secure with teen daughters walking back and forth to the beach. Felt very private. Having a chef was by far a highlight, not only was the food exceptional, but allowed for more time with family and friends…highly recommend!!! Lastly, Zoe the house manager was great! She is so on top of every question and every request. Even before trip started, she is in contact making sure you have everything ready. She handled the grocery shopping and had everything at the house, put away and ready for us to arrive. Zoe made rental car process easy, she arranged horseback riding, restaurant recommendations/ reservations and she answered every question we had promptly. She made the trip easy, which is what you want when on vacation! This house and location is more for families that want the experience of Costa Rica and being outdoors. Not the place for shopping and endless restaurant options. Lots of dirt roads and cool surf spots to explore. Everything was perfect! We will definitely definitely come back! I hope nothing changes with the house, beach, chef, or Zoe. Thank you again for a PERFECT vacation! PS. The house has daily maid service and kept extremely clean!!

Amazing Home and Location

Villa Floramar is the most beautiful property we have ever visited. The location is private and quiet. The home is exquisitely detailed. The view from the covered patio and infinity pool is 180 degrees and includes the famous Playa Negra reef break front and center. There is a short private path that provides access to the sand of Playa Negra. Not sure why websites say Playa Negra is not good for sunbathing or swimming as both are an easy walk from this home. Zoe provided first class concierge service and Chef Laura prepared delicious meals for our family. We arranged for some fun excursions and meals out but I promise once you arrive at Villa Floramar you wont want to leave. If you are lucky enough to have found this listing- book it.

This house was perfect!

This property was just perfect for us. Beautiful pool, easy beach access, lots of shaded outdoor space to hang out near the pool and talk and eat. The surrounding area has some good restaurants. Zoe was incredibly responsive to our needs and questions. We highly recommend this property.

Wonderful holiday stay at Floramar

Floramar was exceptional. We came with 6 adults and a baby, and we were taken care of by Zoe, Laura and Yerleni. The house was not only gorgeous but functioned perfectly (fast Wi-Fi, great laundry, etc). The fridge was stocked on arrival as we requested. The pool was lovely and we loved taking the little path from our deck down to the beach. Truly a wonderful experience that we would recommend highly

Spectacular Stay in Playa Negra

The views are unbeatable. All the local businesses, restaurants, coffee shops, surf shops, etc. are very well run and friendly. We can’t wait to get back there!

Casa Floramar has it all!

We had two families renting Casa Flormar for a friend's birthday celebration in Playa Negra! We cannot say enough good things about Casa Floramar. While I know that the rental doesn't allow for children any longer, this was perfect for two families! Each couple had a perfectly furnished master with full ocean views and en suite bathrooms. The children were then able to have the other two rooms!! The amount of common space was amazing, room for everyone to spread out and have their own space! The kitchen was perfect! It included everything we needed for our stay, and easy to find. We ended up cooking a lot of meals at the house so this was helpful. There was also so much space for eating, that it was nice and all visitors were comfortable. The outside common space with the pool and swinging chair were a highlight. Each morning, I sat on the outside couch, drank my coffee and watched the waves! Afternoon cocktails flowed while we lounged in the pool! And night swims happened nightly! LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION! We are surfers, and it was an easy few minute walk down to the beach to surf, for hours! Then head over to the local hotel for afternoon cocktails. Finally, what may have topped off the entire trip was our amazing concierge, Zoe. We started really communicating a few weeks prior to our arrival. She stocked our entire house with all of the groceries that we ordered, during her grocery store trip she would send me pictures of various items to make sure they were the ones I wanted, and also to get opinions on other items. All of the produce she chose was PERFECT! nothing went to waste! She also set up all of our activities during our stay, which included an in house massage, zip lining, boating, etc.! We constantly asked for additional things during our stay and she immediately responded and hooked us up! She made the stay so easy and comfortable! Zoe's bright attitude from the minute of our arrival until we left on departure day, completed a perfect vacation! We will definitely be back to C

Family Trip at Playa Negra; Best View!

What a view! This place add the best view of the surf at Playa Negra which made our trip incredible. Eating breakfast watching the surf. Huge infinity pool great for the family. AC in bedrooms but not in the common areas, which was a bit of a bummer and forced us either outside or into the bedrooms. Wish the whole home was air conditioned. They well kept path to the beach sets off the experience so well! They beach is clean and very few people. The water is clear and beautiful; stunning! The house as a whole could use some cosmetic updates for this price point. However, juxtaposed to the other properties in northern Costa Rica, it's really nice. Zoe, the property manager, was extremely helpful and hospitable. Would love to come back! Again the view is to die for!!!

Gorgeous property!

This house is stunning and one of the best that we have stayed at in Playa Negra. The location is perfect as it is only about a 7 minute walk to the Playa Negra Hotel. My husband is a surfer so we enjoyed watching the surfers from the deck! We travelled with two families so we had 4 adults and 3 kids. I would say that the layout would probably work better for just couples. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs (only one with an ocean view) and one downstairs unattached from the house. So the parents downstairs were far away from their kids room. Zoe the house manager is awesome and will help with anything you need. We had a chef come a few nights which was incredible and we also went to Villa Deevena two nights (highly recommend this restaurant). Just a few things to keep in mind… there isn’t any air conditioning in the main family room and kitchen. There is only air conditioning in the bedrooms. Although it didn’t bother us too much I could imagine if you came during the hot season it would be uncomfortable. There is also a lot of construction going on all over Playa Negra right now so it is kind of unavoidable but just realize that you might hear construction noise. We will definitely be back and had a great trip!!

I honestly recommend to stay at Villa Floramar. Besides the fact that the house is beautiful, very well maintained and fully equipped, the setting is gorgeous!!! Playa Negra is one of the most beautiful beaches and its only steps away from the house. The owner Denice is super nice as well as Zoe, the manager. They were always available and service was more that great. You couldn’t ask for a better vacation! Go for it!

Absolutely perfect

Stayed with 7 dear friends at Los Pargos. Marvelous home with beautiful common spaces. We sat on the veranda by the pool all day and night. The sunsets were breathtaking and the stars at night were more plentiful than I’ve ever seen. The home is remote but with the chef, Camille and our concierge, Zoe, we had every need covered. We recommend renting a SUV and going to Villa Deevena (a 5star restaurant 1 mike away) and Lola’s on a nearby playa. Time passed unreasonably quickly. We all adored our stay.

Perfect in every way

This was our second visit to Floramar and we love it. The house is truly amazing and the location does not get any better. I am reluctant to write this review because part of me want to keep Floramar and Playa Negra a secret. It is that special of a place! Denice and the staff accommodated our every need and we had an amazing time. We will be back. Pura Vida!!
