Lake Retreat Rustic Fishing Cabin Near University of Alabama Tannehill Mercedes

This is a rustic fishing cabin on quaint and quiet Lake Retreat. The cabin truly is rustic and quaint. Built (we assume) by weekend warriors back in 1979, it became ours in May of 2018. Lake Retreat is part of the Lake View Property Owners Association. The owners, Chris and Nancy have paid the dues for the year, so the dock is available for fishing. The lake has Bass, Catfish, Blue Gill, and other Brim. Lake Retreat is a no-wake lake. The LPOA does not allow non-owner motorized boats on the lake.

This cabin is a peaceful getaway right on the serene water of Lake Retreat! The dock also has two Adirondack chairs so you can sit and fish or enjoy the view! We provide pond fish food so you can feed the fish and an occasional turtle off the dock.

This cabin includes a smart TV in the living area and another smart TV in the Queen bed bedroom. Both have remotes. The kitchen features an electric range, microwave, and a refrigerator with ice maker. You can fill the cooler on the way to the game! The cabin is great for relaxing after an Alabama football game.
Watercraft are not available.

Really enjoyed our stay !! 3 seventy yr. old brothers, Ideal would have been ,cabin and fishing closer to the lake. That's it. Price was good. We'll tell friends about what a good time we had !! Thanks

This was a great little vacation spot for our family to enjoy a little spring break getaway. We had lots of fun fishing from the dock, playing games and watching movies. The cabin was clean, comfortable and fit our family of four perfectly. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area.

I am so glad i found this cabin! It is beautiful and the owners were very kind! The cabin is welcoming, the deck is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outside views. Its pet friendly so we brought our pomeranian. She had just as much fun as we did!

We attend a church conference every year in the area and tired of the hotel life. We tried staying here so we can relax between events and cook. This place is a perfect little peaceful get away. My wife and I saved it to favorites as a place to get away for the weekend. The pond view is awesome. Owners are very responsive and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

We rented the cabin vs. a hotel to be near family for the holidays. It was so nice and quiet and my 80 year old mother loved it! The owners were so accommodating, allowing us to book an extra day at the last minute due to family illness. Highly recommend this quaint rustic cabin. We plan to book again next trip.

Our stay at the Rustic Fishing Cabin was perfect and exactly what we’re hoping it would be. Chris and Nancy are wonderful hosts and awesome communicators. They responded immediately and were always so friendly and informative. My friend and I enjoyed time and nature and our kids enjoyed fishing. The town nearby offers delicious food options.and the drive to Tuscaloosa was quite easy. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy all the beauty of your cabin.

Our stay at this property was fantastic. It is located on a small fishing lake. The owners provided everything we needed for our stay, including shampoo and body wash in the bathroom, coffee supplies, and drinks in the refrigerator. There was even fishing supplies for use during the stay. My husband and I both love to fish and took advantage of theses supplies. We caught several good sized bluegill right at the end of the dock. But we practice catch and release we threw them back for the next guest. we would recommend this property for couples that need time away from the hustle and bustle or even families. Thanks so much for allowing us to visit.

"We had an amazing stay at this lake cabin! The cabin was spotless, cozy, and perfectly equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Waking up to the beautiful lake views every morning was such a treat, and we loved having access to the water for kayaking and fishing. The surrounding area was peaceful, with plenty of nature trails to explore, and the nights by the firepit under the stars were unforgettable. This cabin is a true gem, and we can’t wait to come back for another visit. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene lakeside retreat!"

I stayed at this cabin for family weekend at the University of Alabama, and it was the perfect choice. Just 30 minutes from campus, it was much more affordable and comfortable than a hotel. The cabin itself was peaceful, well-maintained, and incredibly quiet—you could literally hear a pin drop! The lake was so pretty - truly exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, comfortable retreat!

We needed a “home between homes” while moving from California to Alabama and waiting for our new house to be completed. We were really impressed with everything!! The property is lovely…make sure you stay long enough to enjoy the surroundings. We saw fish, turtles, deer, hummingbirds, frogs and more. Chris and Nancy are excellent hosts and very responsive to anything you need. We highly recommend this cabin!!

It was a great birthday getaway I had a terrific time. Peace and quiet it was filled with all amenities of home. I had not had a chance to fish in years truly enjoyed and caught lots of fish. The host they were very accommodating and nice people. I plan on making this trip again real soon. If you like nature and fishing this is the place to be.
