Cozy Lakefront Getaway

This cozy lakefront cottage is sure to make you feel worlds away from it all. It is such an cozy, intimate escape to relax on the front dock, taking in the beautiful view of the lake, or just lounging in front of the fireplace. Disconnect, go fishing, grill up some dinner, go for a round of golf, cuddle up by the fire pit. There's a spectacular view of Lewis Lake at sunrise, can't miss it!

Or if you prefer a little more excitement, the ski slopes are just minutes away.

JUST MINUTES AWAY FROM ELK MOUNTAIN

All appliances are new - as well as pots, pans, utensils, sheets and deluxe linens, comforters, and plush pillows. Plus plenty of board games!

Great for both Summer and Winter rentals.

In the summer, we provide canoe, kayaks, paddle boat (& life vests) for the entire family. There's also badminton, volleyball, horseshoes, bean bag toss, and other yard games for all ages.

Please note: During the winter months, a 4x4 vehicle is STRONGLY SUGGESTED due to mountainous region.

My husband and I had a wonderful relaxing long weekend. The check in process was easy and the house was clean. We enjoyed taking the canoe and kayaks out on the water. We appreciated having a nice hot tub right outside as the afternoon got colder. It was nice having wood available to build a fire in the fire pit. I would have liked to stay a little longer.

If you want to be on a gorgeous lake in a comfortable house in a serene setting, this is it. Host was amazing. I couldn't find the wifi password (which was posted on the wall...) and he immediately replied to help. I briefly lost keys, and he was ready with another set. Seriously, I think I may have been the dizziest guest he ever had but he was gracious and helpful. The house is very comfortable. Kitchen is well-stocked. There are plenty of linens, towels and other comforts available (although you can save a bit by bringing your own towels and sheets if you want). I will definitely be back - this one is really special!

We could not have asked for a better cottage or location. We wanted to go somewhere and relax, and this was it. It was far enough away to feel off the grid, but close enough to(very cute and friendly) mom and pop’s. Having kayaks and canoes there was amazing, we got to start our mornings with some exploring of the lake. The fish were biting every time we set up on the dock. There is a new hot tub on the property that was not listed, and it was the best way to end the day. The fire pit was a great way to relax after dinner. The cottage is roomy, and stocked with everything you could need. Very kid and dog friendly. They had a blast exploring! The host was extremely polite and friendly, sending us all his favorite places to go, and letting us know all the ins and outs of the place. The host was enthusiastic about his cottage and rightfully so.

My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids age 8&12) had a great stay! We arrived pretty late the first night and they had the house all lit up so we could find it easily! The house was as described, we found it very comfortable for our family. The kitchen is large and well appointed. The lake views were beautiful and property well maintained. Great proximity to Elk Mountain for Skiing... Definitely recommend!

This was such a wonderful family getaway! Norbert is a great host! Very kind and easy to communicate with. The cottage is very private and super close to the water. My nephew and i enjoyed kayaking on the lake and we all enjoyed the fantastic view the whole time. Very well appointed, stocked with anything you could need and had new high quality kitchen gagets and appliances. We didn't leave the property from Friday until Monday because we were already in the best place we could be, there was no need to go anywhere else! We really look forward to having a chance to stay here again. Thanks for everything!

We had a great time over the MLK Weekend for skiing at nearby Elk Mountain. It is a small cozy cabin on the lake. Best if you have an all-wheel or 4-wheel vehicle to get to the cabin from the access road.

House was smaller than we expected, but had everything you would need. Loved the lake and the privacy. Enjoyed kayaking and floating on our rafts. Always a breeze from the lake. Great fire pit. Nice place to relax, laugh with friends and read a book.

This cottage was everything I wanted it to be. The lot is large and private with a beautiful view of the lake and your own private dock. The kayaks and floats were an extra added perk! Would love to come back again.

Nice location within a few hours from home. Amenities are plentiful. Norbert checked in our 1st day to make sure everything was ok. We kayaked every day and pretty much had the lake to ourselves.

We love this hidden gem. 2nd year in a row we've been and we'll be back. Great place for a family trip - for us that's 2 adults, 2 kids (3 & 6), and 2 grandparents. Plenty of space, comfy amenities, big kitchen, and wood burning stove for cool evenings is all great. The property is the true gem though - spacious patio w/ rocking chairs, huge yard, firepit area w/ Adirondack chairs, big dock w/ picnic table that's great for fishing, and all the kayaks and canoes you need to enjoy the lake.

This is a beautiful location looking straight out to the lake. It was convenient to Elk Mountain for skiing. The owner was very quick to make sure the driveway was plowed and cinders put down when it snowed. He stayed in touch to make sure everything was ok. The driveway is steep for the wintertime so we were glad we rented an SUV! The top bunk bed is very high so we had to move the mattress to the floor since the 6yr old was scared to be that high and it’s too close to the ceiling for the 10 yr old. But they loved the bright little cozy room. The living & dining area is dark but we moved lamps in from the bedrooms. The tub does not have a drain that closes for baths if you are a bath lover. The kitchen is well stocked! We used the George Forman grill a lot! Buy groceries before arriving! There isn’t much available close by and especially after 6pm We would love to return here again!

So close to Elk mountain! Loved the fireplace with a decent amount of fire wood provided for us. Our dogs loved exploring the area around the cabin. Kitchen has everything you can imagine you would need to cook a meal.

Stayed in November, so could not take advantage of lake. Very nice living/dining space and perfectly functioning fireplace insert. So-called General Store (Cables) nearby is in fact an excellent Deli. A rail-trail at Cables offers a great scenic walking or biking trail. Only negative features were poor lighting in the living area (which could easily be improved with strip lights on existing beams) and the fact that the only soap provided was hand soap..

We were very impressed with our stay here in Uniondale. The cottage was very quiet, which is exactly what we were looking for. The condition, the cleanliness, everything about this place would be well worth looking into if you are looking to just get away. The host we dealt with did much more than we could have expected to make our stay as pleasant as it possibly could be. I could not sat Thank You enough times to truly show how much we appreciated our stay here, and the service we received. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone, and I know we will be coming back soon. Thank You

Norbert is a fantastic host. The cottage is clean and there’s everything there that you might need. As far as our stay goes, it was the best vacation we’ve ever had as a family. We are an “outdoors” family. We love the water, woods and country. The lake is fantastic for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. We did it all and we loved it. We also love to fish and the fishing is FANTASTIC for both experienced anglers and novices. The kids caught fish (bluegills, perch, and bass) right from the dock all day long. We also headed out at night and bottom fished for catfish and caught more than I could count. At sunrise and sunset I would head out in my kayak and absolutely kill the largemouth and smallmouth bass. Norbert sent us a survey of the lake before we arrived and I managed to catch every fish listed on the survey including one fish I’ve never caught before, a rock bass. For fishing supplies, head 5 miles down the road to Little John’s Bait Barn. It’s a great place and John is extremely helpful. As for the area, it’s breathtaking. I must have said “look at the view” over 100 time’s over a week. If you head to Wal Mart (about 40 minutes away), the ride will blow you away. The Mountain View’s, fames, barns, cattle, etc. are amazing. There’s also Stillwater lake and Belmont lake which are both beautiful. Cables store was fantastic and the food is great. Arlos country store was also great but the food is better at Cables and Cables is closer. Norbert has 3 kayaks (one tandem) and a canoe. We didn’t use them because we brought our own but they are good boats and are easy to use. Life jackets and some floats are also located at the property. I’ve been on quite a few vacations and stayed at a number of VRBO’s. This is the only one where I truly felt I could stay there forever.

Wonderful very clean, private and relaxing .We truly enjoyed everything kayaking relaxing in the water on tubes. Camp fire cooked all our meals.😊
