Host gave many excellent helpful suggestions and was great with communication. Edwin and Erma were nice and we did enjoy them cooking for us the last night. House was perfect for what we needed. Love the location except for that horrible road. We definitely plan to go back there!

If you're looking for an isolated, beautiful getaway, this is the perfect place! The view of the ocean from the massive infinity pool is incredible. Edwin & Irma were there to greet us and show us around when we arrived, and they cleaned inside & outside daily, working around our schedule. We took advantage of the option for them to cook for us for 2 of the 6 days and I wish we had done it more - the food was excellent and since many restaurants were closed in September, our other options were limited. The bed was comfortable and the condo is very spacious for 2 people with everything you need for a great stay. A few notes for future guests to know: the dirt road into the area is flat, but extremely rough - I had read that in another review and thought the person was exaggerating but no, it jostles your insides for about 15 minutes! I'd advise renting an SUV rather than a car if possible although a car can handle it. Secondly, the beach is a wild ungroomed rocky beach, not a sandy beach. Bring sturdy water shoes to take a dip in the ocean (lots of coral, very shallow, try Akumal for white sand) Our daily routine involved rotating from the pool to the lounge chairs facing the ocean, to the hammocks under the palapa, back to the pool...and repeat! Each spot has a scenic view and background "music" of gentle waves and seagull cries. It was totally relaxing! You can even see the ocean from the king-sized bed so no need to leave the condo for a beautiful view.

Everything was amazing. Description of property was entirely accurate. Many things to do in the area with restaurants/bars very close. Mac, Edwin, and Erma were amazing hosts. If we could give the property more stars we would. An incredible stay!

Simply Stunning

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beach house! From the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and cared for. Edwin, who maintains the property, went above and beyond to assist us—helping with luggage and ensuring everything was perfect. His helpfulness and friendly attitude truly added to our experience.The house itself was immaculate, spacious, and beautifully decorated, making it incredibly romantic and cozy for the two of us. Stepping out the back sliding glass door, we were greeted with an breathtaking ocean view—simply stunning. The property features a good-sized pool, a charming palapa with hammocks, and the option for a private couples massage with the ocean as your backdrop, all of which made our stay just perfect.We also felt completely safe throughout our visit. The full-sized kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, and Edwin was quick to respond when we requested a grill, which was spotless and ready for use.While the dirt road to the house was a bit rough, and the seaweed season was challenging, those were minor inconveniences and in no way detracted from the overall experience. We absolutely loved this property and would be thrilled to return for a longer stay. Thank you for creating such a memorable and idyllic getaway!

Amazing Stay

We have stayed in many VRBOs through the years and honestly, this rental was probably the best we have ever been to. Mac was amazing to work with and gave us detailed recommendations for dining and things to do. Edwin and Erma were amazing in helping us with whatever we needed. The place is stocked with everything that needed. We plan to go back and will definitely be staying at this amazing rental. Thank you for a wonderful time in Tulum!

Everything you Want

We had a wonderful week just enjoying the house, pool and surrounding beach areas. We took advantage of the meals and they were top notch. This location is absolutely devine and the communication was spectacular.

Perfect for Relaxation

This was our second time staying at this beach house - it was just as amazing as we remembered. The pool is still bigger than you expect and the layout makes it perfect for relaxation. With the outdoor table, hammocks, loungers, etc. we spent the time either in the pool or sitting in the sun and listening to the ocean. The house is perfect for two and the bed is perfect! You have everything you need in the house. The housekeeper is fantastic! The power went out one night but the housekeeper had the generator on in 2 minutes so it was not an issue at all. The host is highly communicative and very helpful. Highly recommend this place! We'll be back again.

The house was wonderful, and it was amazing to hear the ocean crashing against the shore every second of our stay. However, the long dirt drive was a little grind. Recommend it very highly.

Amazing Stay in Tankah

We recently had the pleasure of staying in Tankah and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. The property is exactly as described (if not better) and offers a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. The host, Mac, Edwin and Erma were incredibly welcoming and responsive. From the moment I booked, they provided detailed instructions and were always available to answer any questions I had. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a spotless and well-maintained space, which made me feel right at home. The location is fantastic – The neighborhood is safe and quiet, ensuring a restful stay. One of the highlights of the property is the awesome and beautiful view, well-equipped kitchen and cozy bedroom. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making this a comfortable and welcoming place for guests. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway! This is just about perfect! Your own beach. Your own pool. Edwin and Erma were incredible - we were there during a storm and Edwin worked hard to keep the generators going and our power was undisputed (most of the other houses we noticed had no lights) Erma provided impeccable term down service and we enjoyed a beautiful meal cooked by our hosts right on the beach - incredible lobster and margaritas. Hosts were also very mindful about our privacy - just perfect. Mack was 100% reachable and helpful at all times. We hope we are lucky enough to come back again. A really memorable stay, worth the splurge for a special celebration (our 25th)

A perfect beach retreat!

Casa Vendaval was clean, well-appointed, quiet, and comfortable. Lying in bed and looking out at the sunrise and the waves is unbeatable. Wi-fi and streaming services were perfect. Edwin and Irma take very good care of the premises and of the guests. They prepared perfect grilled lobster and mixed ceviche for us, which was definitely worth the extra cost. We did not have a car but Edwin made sure a taxi was available for us whenever we needed one. We would not hesitate to give our highest recommendation to anyone considering this property.

Best of Tulum

What a vacation! We stayed for a week at this amazing property. Everything was perfect. A great choice for our stay in Tulum. Private, beautiful setting. Our days consisted of moving from the deck...to the lounge chairs...to the hammock...the pool...and walking the beach! Edwin and Erma cooked for us whenever, and lots of restaurants close by with excellent cuisine. So glad we chose this over the huge all inclusive places. Here there was no traffic or crowds. The place was spotless, comfortable, and full of interesting touches. The host, Mac, was so helpful, answering many of my questions about traveling in Mexico. The best vacation!

Almost hesitant to share

This is our second stay at Casa Vendaval -- we were there a few years ago. Mac, the owner happened to be passing through this time and told us he'd built it in 2015-16, so it must have been brand new when we were there. Well, it's STILL brand new. A few spots on the outside where you can see the effect of salt air coming from the ocean about 10 yards away, but basically brand new. And I chalk that up to fantastic maintenance. I asked my wife what she'd like to add, and she said, "Immaculate!" Then she came back a couple of minutes later and said, "Like, eat off the floor immaculate!" Irma scrubbed the inside as if it were an operating room. Meanwhile, Edwin scrubbed -- SCRUBBED -- the outside. We had a cloudy day with high winds. The windows were misty. The next day he arrive with a ladder and attacked the screens. Then a thorough wash of Every window. Equipment? Name it. 3 different kinds of wine openers. Ice cube trays. Most places in Mexico have a big water jug on a stand for drinking water. Vendaval has a pressurized tank under the kitchen sink with a dedicated faucet. Life jackets in the closet. Spices in the pantry. 6-month supply of Q-Tips and paper supplies. And NICE toilet paper - not that nasty waxed paper kind. Location? Spit to the pool. Spit from the pool to the ocean. Edwin, of course, rakes the sand on the beach like a Zen Garden. Easy drive to Tulum, or short trip to 6 or more restaurants. Planning our next visit.

My wife and I chose to stay here for our honeymoon. Our expectations were high, yet we can confidently say they were exceeded in every facet. The property itself is absolutely incredible with beautiful views, luxurious furnishings, and sublime privacy. It was clear how much effort is put in to keeping the property in pristine shape for guests and anticipating their needs. Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted by Irma and Edwin, who both made our trip absolutely incredible. We instantly felt so welcomed and it was very evident the amount of effort and professionalism they put into our stay. On a daily basis Irma would clean the villa making it look as beautiful as it on the very first day. Irma always was anticipating any of our possible needs and wants. Every day there was ice cold water for our use in the fridge, a beautifully set up table for our meals, and wonderful conversation. Edwin immediately set up the hammocks on our arrival, gave us a tour, and helped us a lot with what areas to visit. Everyday Edwin went out of his way to ensure the property was kept in beautiful shape. From a perfectly raked beach area, cleaning the pool, a thorough tour, Edwin was an incredible property manager. We were also beyond spoiled with the incredible meals and drinks. Edwin is a top notch chef and that was very evident in every meal. Mac was very helpful and responsive to any of our questions. We could not recommend this place and it’s hosts enough. Thank you for sharing your home.

Great, private location

Loved the location and the house. Tulum has really blown up over the past 10-15 years and is not as quiet and "off the beaten path" as before. My wife and I specifically picked this house because it appeared to be a little more outside main Tulum and thus more quiet/peaceful. We were really happy with the location...felt more secluded even though we were only about 5 miles from town. Great setup, great views of the ocean. Would definitely stay there again.

A Beautiful Sanctuary!

We’re back at home but still floating on a Casa Vendaval cloud! The property was everything. Clean, pristine, high end finishes inside, beautiful landscaping, and private. The home is located on a very private beach. There is a famous cenote within walking distance as well as a few resorts for cocktails or meals. The pool was clean and the perfect temperature. We took naps in the hammocks under the palapa. The kitchen provided everything I needed to prepare meals (it was very easy to get groceries on our way from CUN). The air conditioning worked well. The property has a built in water filtration system. They even had a substantial Ninja blender for blended margaritas :) + books and games. I had to check in at work each day and the wifi worked perfectly. We took the trip to explore the area but honestly, it was hard to leave this home every day! We were absolutely spoiled by the property caretakers. We ordered dinners from them our first evening and were HOOKED thereafter. The meals were delicious!! And the prices are so reasonable that it makes sense to order meals whenever you’ll be home. The host (Mac) and property caretakers all went above and beyond throughout our stay. Any questions we sent Mac about exploring the area, or logistical needs while we were out, were responded to quickly, kindly, and thoroughly. We both felt completely rejuvenated at the end of our stay. We’ll absolutely be back! Highly recommended

Amazing stay

Very secure location. The pictures do not do justice to how nice the setting is. The cottage is perfect size for a couple. The pool was amazing and proximity to the ocean/beach is great. You hear the ocean 24x7. Beach/Ocean is a bit rocky so bring beach shoes. Great location for Chichen Itza, Tulum ruins, local beaches, coba and more. Playa del carmen is about 30 minutes away by car. Best of all was Edwin and Emma. They went out of their way to make the stay great. Emma cooks and offers a nice menu, property is cleaned and pool well maintained daily. And the cottage is fully services every day. And covered parking. We really loved our stay and will come back again.
