Welcome to River Life Paradise! We welcome you to our 2 bedroom, 1 bath with fully equipped kitchen cottage located 50 feet from the bank of the beautiful Boardman River with a private patio, relaxing outdoor year round hot tub, and yard on 18 acres of private property and more than 2600 feet of riverfront. The cottage can accommodate 6 people. The Boardman offers tubing, kayaking, and canoeing (we can provide equipment if needed). The river is also a Blue Ribbon trout stream and the fishing is second to none. The water is crystal clear. We also have a hiking trail that guides you along the many natural features of the property. This is great place for a short walk. You will encounter many types of wildlife here. Deer, Porcupine, River Otter, Beaver, Bald Eagles, Hawks, Owls, Osprey, and even the occasional bear. Come and hunt mushrooms or do some bird watching.
We are located 10 miles outside of Traverse City. Far enough from town to enjoy peace and quiet, and a never ending sky full of stars. Yet we are close enough that a quick drive offers so much more to do. Traverse City is the gem of northern Michigan offering world class dining, Breweries, Wineries, and views. We are also a quarter mile from the Michigan ATV and snowmobile trail system. Minutes away is the Brown Bridge Quiet area with many hiking trails and beautiful views, also, Ranch Rudolph has horse back riding, dining, and snowmobile rentals! There are trails right out the cottage door to explore. This is a BLUE RIBBON Trout stream offering an abundant amount of Brown trout, and Brook trout with some of the best fishing right in front of the cottage! We look forward to seeing you. the cottage was beautifully updated and clean. Host attention to detail was impeccable (all supplies for both guests and dg were ample). We were grateful for the secure riverfront area for our dog. Host was extremely easy to access with questions.

Great property! Right on the Boardman River

We spent a week at the property and loved it! It’s quiet, peaceful, fully stocked and 50 feet from the Boardman River. We took advantage of the hot tub every night. The bbq grill was great and the fire pit was a welcome feature. The Brown Bridge Quiet Area trails are only a few miles away. Beautiful place to hike.

Peaceful and Relaxing

Our mom and daughter’s trip was everything we hoped it would be! We loved hanging out in the hot tub and enjoyed sitting around the bon fire listening to the river. The home was cozy and had all the amenities needed to enjoy our stay. John was friendly and even brought us some dry wood. Our furry baby had a blast zipping around the fenced in yard. We would love to return! It was a wonderful trip!

Everything you need to relax and get away! 3 night stay in Feb right on the river with hot tub and cozy accommodations. Host John was cordial and friendly. Thank you for sharing your place and providing every amenity needed. Close to TC and wineries. We’d love to come back to enjoy grilling out, campfires and kayaking on the river.

Fantastic Get Away

5 days of peace and quiet. It was the perfect escape from the city. A lot of beautiful snow, a river flowing 50 feet from our back door, and a well-placed hot tub to enjoy both the river and then the stars at night, all in privacy. It was also a bonus to be able to bring our dogs with us. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of our stay, and would definitely go back.

Beautiful Site

Being right on the Boardman River, this is a great spot to catch your breath and enjoy the peace and quiet. The house is well-appointed and clean, and the hosts are great. Looking forward to staying again and going after some trout.

Amazing Anniversary Getaway

This is our very 1st time with VRBO and at this property and we couldn’t be more pleased. It was an absolutely amazing time. Everything we could possibly need was available and pristine! This rental will be saved for future use and hopefully there will be a spot for us in the summer 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Up North Bliss

We loved our stay at your home it was perfectly clean most importantly, the beds were wonderful, and the fenced backyard, river, fire pit and hottub were so much fun. I loved driving into the complex following the lights in the trees it was magical. Can't wait to come back in the warmer weather to explore some more!

Thank you for the hospitality! We really enjoyed unplugging and relaxing. Morning coffee by the river and evenings in the hot tub and by the fire. Grateful for the dinner recommendation for the Boathouse. The views and food were spectacular!

Perfect place.

My boyfriend and I decided to bring our dog with us on a vacation. We knew a small place would be best. River Cottage was perfect. Right on the river. Hot tub was amazing. Our dog Copper really enjoyed the stay as well! We definitely want to come back to stay again!
