The Lake House was the first cabin we built here at Bellbrook Farm so it has a special memories for us & it's the best location for those looking for total privacy - it's also the most popular with our returning guests!

Outside there's glorious view across the lake, magnificent trees and an amazing decking with a new olympus pro hot tub. The inside is just as welcoming with vintage crockery, local artowrk and handmade tables. It's unique, sustainable & furnished with love! Our aim was to retain the wildness in the surroundings whilst making it a cosy place to call home. We have been blessed with the most amazing reviews and hope they'll attest to the beauty found here.

The Lake House is part of Bellbrook Farm Hideaway Holidays where we're proud to be a regenerative holiday destination. We're passionate about protecting our native wildlife and love welcoming fellow nature lovers! Since 2022 we have worked in partnership with Devon Wildlife Trust and Mother Nature to transform our former trout fishery into a precious haven for nature. As such swimming, boating and fishing in the lake is not permitted as it harms the delicate ecosystem we're protecting.

There are no manicured lawns, tarmac paths or artful hedges in sight, just lots of wildness, which we hope you'll enjoy. Dedicated wildlife watchers will be able to spot endangered water voles, deer and kingfishers as well as amazing array of dragonflies which dance around the lake in the summer. There's bug hunting kits, fishing nets and lots of buckets & spades as well as a mud kitchen to keep the children entertained.

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and very little else so a car is essential to access any shops, cafes, walks etc (there are no footpaths directly from the property). The lanes are single track for 2 miles so you'll need to get your reversing groove on! There are lovely shops & cafes in Bampton (5 miles) and Tiverton (9 miles) has a beautiful National Trust, a castle, museum, a beautiful canal and several supermarkets. Exmoor is just under 20 minutes drive and Dulverton is the place to hire an amazing telescope to check out the stars.

The gorgeous hideaway location is perfect for those looking to switch off as we can not get broadband or a TV signal so we use a mobile signal (not 100% guaranteed) for miFi & the TV only works by streaming. If guaranteed wifi and a fast connection are essential it's not the place for you. We do provide a selection of board games so you can unplug & enjoy some old fashioned fun on those mifi off days!
