"Second stay and a whole much better. Breakfast excellent as ever, room facilities were in good condition, including a working fridge except for a broken window handle. Still couldn't turn the radiator off, so too hot and the Spa could be more accessible with priority given to staying guests."

"I booked a single room with twin bed but upgraded to a double bed and got a better room. The room itself was quite dark, except for first thing in the morning when the sun lit up the room and the bathroom, which was nice. The bedroom had only one central light (quite dark) and one bedside light, with no lighting over by the desk where the kettle/tea/coffee were, which was a little awkward. "This was one of the best places I have stayed in a long time. The look of the Ribchester Arms, when we arrived, was impressive. We had a very large room and bathroom, both very modern with a 'fridge and juices, milk, drinks and biscuits. The staff were very helpful and looked after us. Breakfast was freshly cooked and pretty good. We ate there a couple of nights and the food was wonderful. A recommended place to stay ."

"Stayed at the Black Dog Inn in Bolton for two nights. The room itself was comfortable enough for the price, so no major complaints there. However, the overall experience was disappointing. The first night was a write-off in terms of sleep. Staff gave a late booking to a couple who had been drinking in the pub, and they stayed up most of the night with the TV on at a very high volume.
