"The room is a nice size, clean, but very very dated, the shower was in the bath and not very good. The hotel itself is located not far from Stansted airport and it's the only reason I would consider booking again. The parking at the hotel is very poor and pretty much a free for all but the car park next door is free between 6pm to 8am with proper painted bays where people park rather than just abandon their cars. All in all it was an ok choice of a place to stay for an early flight but I doubt...

"The property is very dated and unclean. We had hair in our beds and the heater was broken and on all night. The breakfast was very average and alao had hair in it. The transport from the hotel was efficient but very expensive for auch a short trip. "

"Loved quirky old hotel. Good rooms, right in the heart of Saffron Walden. The food was excellent and the service from Jim and Luka was exceptional. Looking forward to returning. "

"A bit surreal, the place was devoid of staff, night or day! The room was clean but tiny and very sparse of comfort, which is OK for one night but does not match the price. Also the name Airport Lodge is deceptive, it is 10' ride by taxi and that was 16 pounds. The following day i tried the local bus but it came 45´ late. At least, it was only 2 pounds. "

"cigarette burn mark on the carpet. Pillows were poor (small and thin, so barely any plump to them) and only one per bed, with no spares elsewhere. Bathroom not in the greatest condition."

"Room at first was ok. Then waking up in the hour feeling as we were bitten I had red mark that have now puffed so my taking antihistamines. On closer inspection was bed bugs are we killed a few of them leaving the blooded remains on the pillows. We divided to shower and leave the place by 1.30 in the morning. So we had managed to to arrive at 10pm and gone in a few hours. We was in room 21 so really check the room the room with the lights off and use your black light to check the bed and...

"Friendly helpful staff, lovely little room, comfortable bed. The bathroom is not the greatest as water pressure was very low to have a nice shower. Sink was blocked, water didn't flow down as the plug was stuck. Not tried breakfast or any food not had time for that. Quite a few eating places around the lodge. Other than the bathroom, it's great for few nights stay, would still chose it again."
