  • Older style spacious two storey, 3 bedroom family home in Mount Maunganui. Original early 80's decore. Hop skip and a jump to Omanu surf beach with surf patrol during summer months. You can check out the waves from the huge relaxing upstairs living area. Cafe with excellent coffee and corner Dairy, Indian Restaurant, Fish 'N Chip Takeaway Shop and Wine Shop so handy straight across the road. What else do you need? Easy walk to golf course behind house at reasonable casual rates. 5 minutes from Bayfair Shopping Complex and Bay Wave covered swimming pool. Short drive or cycle to downtown bustling Mount restaurants. Beautiful walk around or up our iconic Mount. Location is the unique feature of this property with everything so handy and close by.
    Extra bedding available for larger family groups. We promote our Sandyhouse as a family friendly place.

Cricket trip

I stayed with a groip of friends for the cricket. We really enjoyed the stay. There was plenty of space in the house and it had a fantastic location with the beach so close. House was a bit dated, but it didnt disappoint. The hosts were also very helpful.

Great location. Rather dated & musty. 2 guests with asthma & hay fever struggled. 3 couples & 2 singles, not enough double beds. Couldn’t find a broom or vacuum to tidy up.

The location was great not too far to walk to the beach, property could do with updating but it filled our needs for the short stay we had there. Not very child safe being on such as busy road I wouldn't let the children play outside for fear of them running on the road. The owners were very friendly & helpful.

Great location

The location was superb and the size of the house was good. Also plenty of amenities. Unfortunately the decor was very dated and worn. There were no curtains or blinds in the lounge which left the whole room exposed (not ideal as people slept in there) and the neighbours liked looking in at us! We were expecting it to be a bit run down as it was stated but it definitely needs some work done to tidy it up and make it more comfortable.

Xmas at the beach

The location of this property is great. You can see the beach, and its about 100 metres to walk there. Plus right next to handy set of shops (dairy etc). Weather was good and our plan for a family Xmas at the beach with BBQ, cricket, surfing etc. all came together. Property is getting a bit worn inside (1970's decor) but everything works. We had 5 to 7 people (all adults) staying depending on the day, and there is adequate of room for that many.

Great Location if you are wanting to base yourself at the Mount. Older bach with lots of room for plenty of people.
