Terraços do Távora accommodations are located in the heart of the Távora and Douro Valley, an UNESCO World Heritage site. Situated in the wine-producing village of Santo Aleixo and surrounded by rural and agricultural elements, it is the ideal place to enjoy a complete experience of nature combined with its beautiful landscape. The mid-20th-century residential building is situated on a rural property and underwent conservation and improvement works throughout 2020 and 2021, promoting the use of ecological materials combined with traditional techniques. It comprises two floors, which, due to their interior layout, allow for independent use. The first floor consists of a bedroom, a bathroom, and a common room with a kitchenette. On the upper floor, there are two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a common room with a kitchenette. The outdoor space offers an infinity pool overlooking the Távora River and the Douro reservoir, three open patios, a barbecue, laundry facilities, a covered patio, and natural green spaces with native fruit trees. Despite our mountain origins, the Douro Valley called to us about 20 years ago for professional reasons, captivating us in an affectionate and emotional way. To fulfill these feelings, the acquisition of this property led us to look at this "golden world" with more care and affection, preserving all existing elements so that our guests can enjoy this ensemble in perfect harmony with its surroundings. With easy and privileged access via National Road 323 and the Most Beautiful Road in the World (National Road 222), reaching our accommodations are a pleasant and relaxing journey. Despite its secluded location, the area offers a range of recreational attractions of historical, heritage, and cultural interest, combined with world-renowned natural beauty. Proximity to major Port wine producers allows visitors to enjoy tastings and guided tours of their cellars, as well as the local cuisine, both traditional and contemporary. Furthermore, taking advantage of the boats sailing on the Douro River, one can book short or long-distance tourist trips.
