Time to rest and enjoy nature

Apartment located on 6 acres parcel of woods yet close to biking trails and couple miles from the downtown VIllage of Suttons Bay. Enjoy the view of Suttons Bay while relaxing on the deck or walk a mile and a half to enjoy the public beach. Apartment is located on second floor of home and access via outside steps. Driveway is gravel.

The unit is an ADU located on the same property as the main house (?), with the apartment situated upstairs. It appears that the downstairs unit is also rented out and includes a dog as we heard barking upon arrival. Positives: Convenient parking, nice view, Wi-Fi, comfortable bed and basic necessities like soap and towels were provided. The host was responsive and communicative when needed.Areas for Improvement: The driveway is in very poor condition and needs restoration, as it’s severely eroded and steep. My tires spun while driving up the hill to reach the unit, and I was genuinely concerned I might not make it. The entry and staircase also lacks lighting at night, which poses a safety concern. The unit shows visible wear and tear, including cabinet damage and areas repaired with duct tape. Lastly, there is a door hidden behind a bookcase, which felt unusual and left us uneasy during our stay.

The property itself was pretty. The inside of the property was an up north feel. It was very clean. I am not sure if the property stated that it is upstairs. I was trying to avoid stairs. Inside there is a window unit for air conditioning. It was loud and came on frequently. It made it hard to sleep if you had a bed near it. Also, the windows had no screens in the main area. It would have been nice to have fresh air inside. The beds were ok. Bathroom was clean and the shower was nice. There are two pedestal sinks that makes it hard to get ready. One thing that was particularly bad was noise. We could clearly hear that a pet peeded in the corner. Also could hear kids running around. Someone was loud outside in the morning calling the dog. I don’t think I could recommend it.

Hosts are very nice and responsive. The setting is very relaxing with trees and meadows while having a water view of Sutton Bay in the distance. You are close to the city of Sutton Bay (about a mile). I definitely recommend and would not hesitate to rebook this place

Had a great stay!

We stayed at this property for a weekend. We had a wedding right in Suttons Bay and this place was perfect. It was far enough off the main drag that traffic and people were not a problem. It was quiet and peaceful. There was enough spots for everyone to sleep, we had a couple in the bedroom another couple on the bottom bunk, 1 kid on top bunk and we brought a blow up mattress for 2 kids to share and put on living room floor. Perfect spot for a family to enjoy a little R&R!! THANK YOU!!!

Perfect place for my family's needs.

Our stay was great and this was the perfect place for my family's needs. My 5 year old daughter loved the bunk beds and there was plenty of room for my son's pack and play.

Great, relaxing visit

We had a wonderful visit. We only had a short stay, but everything was perfect. The host was quick to respond to my questions, and the place was amazing. The only difficulty we had at all was the GPS trying to direct us to the neighbors place instead. Fortunatly the addresses are well marked. It is a very relaxing property with an amazing view and is within a short distance to some wonderful places.

Short stay

We only stayed here for 2 nights. Unfortunately, we had a different experience than other reviewers. We absolutely loved the location and the view from this property. It was spacious and communication with the owner was easy and quick. However, we found the apartment to have an off-putting smell. There was also a lot of closet space with no hangers and there were leftover socks/underwear in one drawer and sand in the other.

Host needs some coaching from VRBO

There were 3 couches in only sitting area- all 3 were dirty and very old and warn. Found a blanket in a drawer to put over the couch but the blanket smelled and had a corner that looked like it was chewed up. While looking for linens, there was a pair of underwear and a pair of socks in a dresser drawer. Found sheets to cover couch and put pillows under for sitting support. (Have photos if needed) Kitchen sink was clogged and backed up. Didn’t really use it as we brought paper products and only slept there 2 nights and were gone all day into the evening. No extra toilet paper other than what was on the holder when we arrived.

Suttons Bay Return

The home is as listed and sits back on a low traffic road. The deck is the perfect place for morning coffee/tea and evening cocktails enjoying the beautiful view. It is also a great spot to watch the numerous birds and enjoy the dogs play fetch. Karla was easy to work with, friendly and very responsive to questions.
