Cozy Waterfront Home! 2BR/2BA Large covered deck*fishing dock*floating boat dock

WiFi internet available! Family friendly and perfect for Fishing & Boating - 4 miles from Holden Beach by car and about 3 miles by boat. This recently renovated house was originally a shrimp house for local fisherman to sale and process their catch. It's now a beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with a large living/dining/kitchen area. Because of the history of the shrimp house this home is one of the only homes that actually sits on the bank of the Lockwood Folly River. Spacious covered back deck over the water with a uncovered dock on the front that is perfect for fishing. There is also a connected floating dock for your use. Please note that property has 3 additional docks and a boat lift but are NOT part of the VRBO. The Fish House is centrally located between historic Wilmington, NC and exciting Myrtle Beach, SC.

Sleeps 6 with one queen bed in the master bedroom (which overlooks the river), one queen bed and twin bunk beds in the second bedroom. It has a large farm style dining table with additional seating at a large central bar. Windows line the living room wall so that you can enjoy the bird watching, dolphin swimming, and sunrises all from the comfort of the couch!

Bring your fishing pole or your boat as the Fish House is located on the Lockwood Folly River about a mile and a half from the Inter Coastal Waterway. The Lockwood Folly Inlet is situated between Oak Island and Holden Beach and has direct access to the Atlantic Ocean! The Fish House has a large parking area if you do bring a boat and is only a half of a mile from a free public boat ramp. There is also a fish cleaning station and outdoor shower right off the floating boat dock!

Please be aware that there are three piers down from the floating dock that are used by the owners of the property, they can be seen in the pictures. These three piers and boat lift are private and are not part of the VRBO. We ask that all guests limit their usage to the one floating dock. The owners occasionally park on the far edge of the lot away from the house and access their boat by the steps in the side yard. This is far enough away from the house that it should not be disruptive. There are also two cameras on this property for security measures, one on the parking lot and one on the piers.

My husband is in his early 80s and has mobility issues due to a knee problem. I searched everywhere for a rental on the water where he could fish, as he cannot walk in sand and uses a rollator. This amazing property was perfect! We took two rollators, one for inside the house and another for the deck. He used his cane to get down the three simple steps with a handrail to the deck. We practically lived out there! Caught croaker and made fish tacos. I caught a few crabs off the floating dock but the current was a bit strong. There are two seafood markets within half a mile where we bought flounder, crabmeat and shrimp. Note that we fed a lot of shrimp to small hungry fish! His bedroom had an en-suite bathroom with a step in shower. I used the second bedroom, with another bathroom with a step in shower right outside the door. There was plenty of room for him to navigate around the house with his rollator, and entering the house from the parking lot is easy too...no steps. We took a folding fishing chair with arms. The mattresses were top notch! My back felt great in the mornings. The location is very quiet and peaceful with a lovely marsh view. We waved at kayakers and fishermen as they passed by. This stay was for our 45th anniversary and I have already booked a week in the spring for his 83rd birthday. The owner Angie is phenomenal at communication! We were sorry not to meet her, but maybe next time. I already have friends with mobility issues asking for the VRBO link.

Perfect place to relax and recharge! Clean and comfortable home over the water that lets you basically roll out of bed and do a little fishing. Big kitchen bar and table to spread out snacks and puzzles. Comfy sitting area with tv and beautiful view out every window. This was our second stay and about to rebook for next year. Love this place!

Great stay

My husband and I went along with our 2 grown sons and wife. We loved the deck, the boating dock, the peacefulness and the location. Very quiet neighborhood and not far at all to the beach attractions. We will be back. Thankyou

Enjoyable Stay

Nice place to stay. Pretty much anything needed is on hand. Well stocked with the basics and more. Highlight of the stay was the deck and the fishing opportunities it provides. There are large fish here of all types all within casting distance. Planning to return as soon as practical.

We have wanted to rent this house for several years now and it did not disappoint. From the beautiful decor inside to the dock off the back that was wonderful. We seen beautiful sunrises, a dolphin, and caught some fish. Would highly recommend this beautiful, comfortable costal home.

Tranquility

If you love peaceful and quiet this is the place! Absolutely stunning views, fantastic porch and a wonderfully well kept kitchen. We love to cook together so it was awesome. Such a lovely quiet neighborhood and the beach just across the bridge. We will be back!

Favoite place to stay so far!!

The house was clean and smelled clean without chemical smells. It rained for 3 days but no big deal as we had the covered deck and fishing to occupy ourselves. Bring Skin So Soft as the no-see-ums were terrible but we expected it being on the water. The big fan on the deck helped keep the bugs away. We had our boat and the dock worked perfectly. Croakers were the main fish we caught off the deck. The kitchen had all utensils, cutlery and dishes you need, plus a large pot for seafood boils. They had a Keurig and ground coffeemaker. Spent 10 days here and didn't want to leave. Make sure to check out SmacNallys for lunch/dinner. The fish vendors along the canal were friendly and offered a large selection of fresh seafood choose from. Our host was very responsive to my numerous questions. I can't wait to stay here again. Thank you!!

Spring break

Amazing place and amazing location. The back porch and dock was were we spent most of our time if we weren’t on the boat. You could watch dolphins, fish and just enjoy the beautiful sunset right from the back door. Definitely will be back.

I have stayed there twice each year for the past 4 or 5. I love it,but I'm on a fixed income aid the price has almost doubled. Hope to be able to go again.
