  • Treat your loved one to a couple of nights at Heron's Retreat in this newly renovated 1 bedroom cottage nestled into the trees in the Steinhatchee Landing development. As owners we are very strong believers in delivering an excellent experience at an incredible price. We want to be the best in luxury and the most affordable too. Why not get pampered without breaking the bank. Check out our reviews and see what other guests are saying about us. Our cottage got more 5 star reviews in 2016 than any other property in Steinhatchee.

    Heron's Retreat sits creekside with a gently flowing creek immediately off the back porch and walking trails that wind through the tree hammock and down to the river. It is important to note of the eight honeymoon cottages, ONLY the creekside cottages have back porches that offer a view of the creek and walking trails.


    Heron's Retreat is professionally decorated with some gorgeous artwork and décor that makes it stand out from any other property. Newly painted interior and exterior, you will find the cottage to be immaculate! Brand new flat screen TV's and bluetooth audio system add to the quality experience and ours is by far the most updated of all the honeymoon cottages.

    The back porch will create a feeling of being immersed in the trees with high end patio furniture for a perfect cup of morning coffee, or evening beverage. Just listening to the creek and birds will make it hard to ever leave. Wait till you hang out on the on the swing, you will love it!!!

    Brand new posturepedic pillow top mattress, with 1000 thread count linens, with a lofty down-like comforter with Duvet cover invites you for a luxuriously restful sleep. The brand new convertible sofa will provide additional sleeping if you decide to bring the little ones.

    Steinhatchee Landing Development is an amazing 30 acre preserve with a full time staff of groundskeepers that ensure that everything remains beautiful. With weddings a commonplace, the onsite Chapel, and Koi ponds provide some amazing photograpy moments. Park your boat right at the community dock, light a fire at one of the firepits by the river, or just relax on one of the rocking chairs at the waters edge. Also feel free to use the community pool and indoor spa and sauna to enhance your Heron's Retreat experience.

We booked this property for a quick weekend getaway. It was great. Everything was clean and matched the pictures from the listing. Price point was excellent also. My wife really enjoyed the jetted tub and the nice bluetooth speaker. I hope we get a chance to go back.

We'll be back!

What an amazing vacation! The place was immaculately clean. The attention to detail was amazing. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything we needed to cook with (pots/pans/dishes, etc.) as well as a shelf full of spices and basic condiments in the fridge. Loved the array of additions for your bath. I think my favorite part was sitting on the swing on the back screened porch to start my day with coffee and end my day relaxing. The communication was amazing as well. My daughter left ALL her electronics and they were quick to get with us to confirm as well as making arrangements to get them to us. So thankful for that! Only con was the parking situation. We had an F250 and had plenty of area of to parallel park in front of our unit but apparently the people next door (which have a pull in space) decided to park their golf cart in that and take up half of our space with a truck. Luckily the unit to the other side of us had no one so the back end of our truck blocking part of their spot didn't become an issue. But in this particular area the parking was the only somewhat con. We are already figuring dates on coming back. We traveled with us as a couple and our 10 year old daughter and had more than enought room!

Great 1st Scalloping Trip

We loved staying here for our first scalloping trip. The cottage was just the right size for the two of us. I never thought I’d be so excited about a bathroom but it was gorgeous! Already planning to return.

Wonderful retreat!

I was looking for a relaxing spa and pool experience, and this place checked all the boxes! The pool was clean and cool, the spa tub was amazing, and I really enjoyed wandering the grounds and sitting in the rocking chairs by the river. The best part is the location of the house, right next to a beautiful creek and winding tree-covered path, private and quiet. The swing on the screened-in porch was my favorite place to be, listening to the cicadas, birds and frogs singing in the forest! Would love to return, and would choose this house again and again.

Cozy cottage

We loved this cozy cottage. It had everything you could possibly need for your vacation. Check in was easy and so was check out. We really enjoyed ourselves on our mini vacation. Lots of fun things to do on and around property.

Wonderful Wonderful place

This is the most amazing property ! EVERYTHING is provided, wine and candy/snacks on arrival. Every detail is thought of. The bed, couch, porch, dining are soooo comfortable with the most exquisite bedding. Bathroom is a world class spa. Our second time staying did not disappoint. Actually exceed our expectations. Th biggest disappointment was we had to cut our trip short due to health problems I had no control over. We will be back absolutely. Thank you owners Abby and Steve. You are the best. Best relaxing weekend

My wife and I were just needing a relaxing weekend away for our 6 month anniversary. The cabin was the best thing we could have asked for. The tub and fireplace were positively amazing, and we ending up spending our whole weekend just in the cabin. Will absolutely have to come again to actual enjoy the sights and being on the gulf!

Great property! This community has a hot tub, pool & other amenities. Was able yo use hot tub once. It was great! Our cottage was nice & cozy! Would recommend locating cottage in daylight hours. Was difficult to find in the dark. my GPS was telling me to turn left on Lisett instead of right.
