"The property is very nice. Looked very new inside and very clean. There were a few hiccups. The shower cut off for about 30 minutes in the middle of a shower. There were no linens for the sofa bed. The bar and restaurant are closed on Monday and Tuesday and I wasn't advised of this until I had already arrived in the UK. If it were not for those things, I would have given 5 stars."

"The setting is perfect, overlooking Freshwater Bay, and the hotel has been beautifully restored. Everywhere feels very spacious and comfortable. The staff are lovely and clearly wanted us to have a wonderful experience staying at the hotel. "Great place, a very old property that needs serious money spent on it. The gardens are beautifully maintained. We had two breakfasts and an evening meal, the restaurant was like a geriatric ward, I'm 67 and I reckon I was the youngest there, luckily the staff are (I'm sure) trained in caring for the elderly It's not as grand as you might think"

"This is a beautifully situated old mill on a gentle stream with gorgeous grounds. Idyllic. Just outside Lymington but a short 8 minute drive into town or to the ferry. Dinner was good with excellent service. Nice room, comfy beds, good bathroom. We were there on the hottest day of the year so it was very hot in the room but a fan was provided which helped."

A conveniently central position for beach and countryside, betwixt Carisbrooke Castle and Osbourne House. "Difficult review. On the one hand, perfect location, great view, good bed, very helpful staff and nice food. On the other hand, the room was very uncomfortable. Unbearably hot with windows that only open a crack. Very low sloped ceilings in about half the room (which was already tiny). Okay if you're under 5 foot five. At 6 foot 2 my partner hit his head several times, jarred his back ducking to avoid hitting his head and had to bend over backwards to use the toilet. The room was very...

"No door key as all digital, had to use phone which is ok but only gives access to 1 person. Shower temperature was luke warm at it's hottest, shower gel dispenser didn't work. Also the air-conditioning didn't work, had to use the fan instead. Room was noisy due to the adjacent pub."
