"This was my third stay at The Principal Hotel. The history of this property is unique and the rooms are amazing - essentially in brand-new condition and very tastefully designed and decorated. I've eaten at the adjoining restaurant, the Graphite, on one occasion. Amazing food! (When the Graphite is closed on Mondays, I eat at the Thai House restaurant within blocks of the hotel. "The shower had hair in it. The vents were full of dust. We woke up with head congestion from dust and mildew smell. Lights with burnt out light bulbs in room. Hotel was out of ice buckets. Hotel had two ice machines and neither worked. Shampoo and shower gel dispenser were broken. Staff and front desk supervisor stated ice buckets were not mandatory. Maintenance and housekeeping supervisor not available. "

The main issue was the noise. There were people going in and out and yelling and partying literally all night long.
We also had people standing outside our window talking, partying and smoking until 4am…smoke came right through the (closed) window all night. I’ve never given a negative review to anyone before and feel bad doing it this time as well but want others to be aware as we got no sleep the entire night. There is no way staff did not...

"We usually stay at drury properties no matter where we go, Fairview heights even though a newer one was probably the worst. The rooms were clean but the pool and hot tub were absolutely disgusting there were hair, skin pieces, bandaids, and the overwhelming smell of urine. You could tell it had not been cleaned in a long time. And the hot tub jets did not work at all it was stagnant people soup. The staff seemed to not care about anything at all.
