We stayed here for 2 nights while in town for a Brewers game. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The building reeked of cigarette and weed smoke, and the “gated” parking was never actually secured. The pool was filled with green water, and the second entrance was completely unsecure. Inside the unit, the smell persisted and triggered allergies for me and my kids. I contacted the host to cancel the second night but was told no refund would be issued. They offered to have a cleaner come by but I declined stating that I didn’t know how that would help. The bunk beds squeaked loudly, making sleep difficult, and the bedding and towels were poor quality. Sheets were so thin and pilling and the towels did not dry us off after showering. The unit looked nice in photos but was dirty—dusty windowsills, a broken soap dispenser, and a dishwasher filled with murky water. Our kids’ white socks turned black from the filthy floors. We were also woken up by a loud party outside at 5am, and found a cockroach in the unit on our last night. While some issues may be out of the host’s control, many are not. Overall, I would not recommend this rental.

I understand if September is not peak pool time, however, the pool should have been covered and properly closed then.

This is from just walking a few times from the bedroom to the living area.

Paris Theme only in well-worn blankets/pillow cases. Interior decor figures broken. Hallway- Leak in ceiling reported x2 over a few days. GR- No dresser, just plastic container drawers. Loosely assembled bunk bed Temu quality & creaks w/ every move. MBR- No dresser, but bed/pillows very comfortable. Bedside lamp dimmer than a night light & sheets so pilled-had to buy sheets. Ceiling fan squeaked w/ most rotations. No curtains, very nice blinds. Closets- spacious; only 5 hangers in unit. LR- chairs legs bend back; informed 1 of the property owners while in the unit. Small couch fit 2 adults. 5’10” man used chaise section, needed to put one of the chairs at the end for feet. Kitchen- Bare basics provided: no casserole dish, colander, peeler, can opener, or left over containers. Lacked a dish drainer, dish towels (rags), & pot holders; provided in a timely manner as the dishwasher was broken & being examined. Dish rags unraveling after 1 run in the washer. Provided w/ 3 trash bags (11 day stay). DR- Card table w/ mismatched chairs w/ the seat not securely fastened on 1. Bath/laundry- No toilet plunger, but they did provide 1 in a timely manner. Flushing handle got off track, but able to rebalance it. Washer squeaked so loud that bathroom & bedroom doors didn’t block the sound. Floors- not a filthy place by any means, but floors are lived in & seem Swiffer mopped. No cleaning solution to mop it ourselves.

Spacious apartment close to City Museum. Parking is free but not truly gated because neither of the gates functioned and we’re always open. Beds were ok-the bunk beds had terrible squeak whenever you move. We had to contact host for wifi password since spectrum box couldn’t be found. Also, broken decor and chair legs didn’t look very good (or feel safe if chair fully broke while sitting on it). The next door neighbors were smoking weed and another from down the hall knocked on our door to invited us to play beer pong. The outdoor key fob didn’t work, either. The shower, size of space, and proximity to City Museum are the only positives.

Family stay in St Louis

We booked this place due to the location to city Museum. While it was convenient to be able to walk, it is not in a very good neighborhood. The building has a very strong smoke smell, and all of our clothes need to be washed after staying for a couple of days. While the condo was very clean, we did not have use of Wi-Fi. I alerted the property manager that the Wi-Fi provided was not adequate to stream on any of their TVs, nor were any of the TVs connected to the network. We also had to search for the Wi-Fi network because it was not coming up as an option to choose. There were exactly 4 towels, one hand towel, and a few washcloths. Dish soap was soap was provided but we were only given one pod detergent for the dishwasher and no detergent for the laundry. We also were not able to find the dumpster in order to remove our trash from the condo. I would caution that there is a lot of construction in the area as well. Each morning started between 6 and 7 AM with construction noises directly outside of the windows of the bedrooms. While I know that this is not in the control of the property owner/manager it is something to take into consideration, if choosing this location. There were no instructions about checkout and we had to message several times to get any direction or information. The property manager was responsive but there was a lag in response time.

Scam Likely

I booked this property - a 2 bedroom apartment, sleeping 5 - but was sent a message from the host the day of check-in moving us to a different unit due to “uncontrollable circumstances.” She said it would be a one bedroom that sleeps 2. I let her know that would not work, as we have 4 people in our party. She told me there was a fold out bed available too. This meant I had to bring a blow up mattress for my toddler. She was resistant to giving me a fair price for this change, but I eventually agreed to 50 off. When we showed up, the unit was not a one bedroom but a studio/loft. I contacted her and customer service immediately as this was not what I reserved NOR what I agreed to in the change. I was told I agreed to the accommodations because I came to the room. I spent two hours on the phone with customer service trying to get out of this reservation. VRBO offered no protections for me and the host was given the power to make decisions regarding refunds, etc. even though she was the one who misrepresented the unit. We ended up having to cut our vacation short due to this. After much advocating, I did get refunded for the night I canceled. But no compensation was given for the fact that I did not get what I reserved. I truly wonder if she is running a scam by booking people in one room and then placing them in a room of lesser value.

The building was horrible but the apartment itself was amazing parking was a joke the bar across the street was fabulous and the owners of the bar was super helpful and extremely nice (Wave Taco) not a good neighborhood though

Weekend getaway

Great location that had everything within walking distance. The host gave very clear instructions to get into the building, so that was helpful. Ceiling fans had dust on them and need to clean under the bed but otherwise it was very clean. Recommend Blondie’s for coffee and breakfast.

Great location, apartment at end of building, private

We are from the country, so this was very city to us, but everyone in the building was very nice, pool was rarely used, but a nice pool. Cool water that felt wonderful even though it was in the 90s. Apartment has a balcony where you can see your car and the pool. The check in instructions were a necessity and very thorough. I am grateful for this. The apartment was nice and having the snacks there was a big bonus. (Of note, make sure you bring cooking spray). We were within walking distance to so many places, including the aquarium and city museum is just across the street. The apartment is at the end of the building and a long hallway when you walk in, so the master bedroom is away from other apartments which was nice. Owner checked in via email a couple times during our 5 day stay, great communication.

I LOVED this property! It was so convenient for our stay. The City Museum is a block away! Hoping this place keeps their reasonable pricing! Because we will be back and I will be requesting this place again! Only thing missing from our stay was a little more coffee (only enough for one small pot, for the 2 days we stayed). A couple ideas for finishing the bathroom: a removable shower head would be handy so we could rinse the shower when we were done, & some hooks in the shower and bathroom to hang our loofas and towels. These additives would change my 9.9 out of 10 rating to an 11! :) Thank you!

Something happened with the Open Path information and I didn't receive it. I contacted the property manager about how to access the property, she said I should have received that information from the reservation platform. When I sent her screenshots of what I did receive, she sent me the Open Path information. I thanked her and told her I had not received that information before she shared it. She then responded, "It actually did I sent you a screen shot of it on the VRBO/Expedia website that’s how I was able to copy and paste and resend to you. Our automated system sends it out 48 hours before check in. The platform has also verified it as well that they are able to successfully see it." While I appreciate that she sent me the information, I still have not received the original info that she forwarded to me. I don't appreciate being told that I received something I clearly did not. If I had that information, I would not have needed to contact her for instructions.

Stoped here on the way to Branson as it is close to City Museum. Plenty of room for the family, pool was great and gated/secure parking. Tenants in the building were friendly, polite and helpful. Worked out well for us. Could use blackout curtains in the bedroom as the city lights were quite bright.

The gated parking was great! Only thing that would have made it better was if there was entrance access to the back of the building without having to go down through the garage/basement. Everything else met great expectations. Plenty of room for my family in the unit and it was clean. Great communication with the host throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this place and would stay again.
