River Ridge Cottage

Enjoy the serenity of a country setting on the Yellow River in Spooner, Wisconsin. Affectionately referred to as "the cottage," you will be staying in a red barndominium. The cozy space offers 2 bedrooms, a full bathroom, washer and dryer, a full kitchen and a rustic living room with a wood stove for warmth and ambiance. Outdoors you have a patio for dining and a fire pit for relaxing after taking in all Spooner has to offer. We have walking trails located on our 23 acres of land for your enjoyment. Located just a few minutes from the Spooner Lake boat landing and the Spooner Golf Course. ATV and snowmobile trails accessible directly from the property.
Enjoy the Yellow River by following the path--it's just a hop, skip and a jump from your private patio.
For security purposes, there is one security camera facing the driveway to the cottage.
The grill is both propane and charcoal. We will supply the propane--please shut it off when done using. If you'd like to use the charcoal side, please bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.
Please note: There is a cute navy blue and white shed on the property--this is not the red barndominium that you will stay in.
We have ample room for parking of your toys--whether boats, trailers, UTV's--please let us know what you will be bringing and we'll instruct you where the best place to park is.

The cottage was cozy and immaculate. We appreciated the comfy beds and a well-stocked kitchen. Its location near a river and nature added to its charm, and the delicious apples from the orchard were a delightful bonus. We would definitely stay again if in the area.

The beauty of your surroundings just takes your breath away from the moment of arrival. The cabin is so beautiful and outdoor space they arranged is a plenty. You can stay amongst the trees right by your cabin or you can go down the path a little way and sit in another beautiful area right by the river. It is just gorgeous. We lacked for nothing, especially the kindness of the hosts.

Romantic Getaway Perfection

Gentlemen, if you’re looking for the perfect romantic getaway with your wife, this is the place. Kelly and Kate were phenomenal hosts. I asked if they could set the cottage up “honeymoon style” and gave them a modest budget—they went above and beyond. My wife was absolutely blown away. The cottage itself was beautiful, spotless, and wonderfully private. Their local recommendations were on point, too. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. If you’re on the fence—book it. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful little cottage close to town

Had a great stay at River Ridge. The cottage is adorable, exactly as stated and the reviews by others are very accurate. It is definitely a bit small for four people but if you don't mind being cozy it is absolutely worth staying here. Will definitely be back again. The host Kelly and Kate were very friendly, very prompt with all of our needs. The cabin has pretty much everything you could ever need. That was appreciated. I love how close it is to town. The fire pit is beautiful!! We had such a lovely stay. Thank you for sharing your little cottage with all of us!

Excellent place to stay.

We enjoyed the cabin so much. Very clean with everything you need in case you forgot something. We relaxed with morning coffee by the river. Had a campfire every night and enjoyed the quietness. Spooner was fun and the local people were nice to talk to. Very soft bed and slept good after a day out exploring the area. Hosts were one of the best I have encountered. Will stay here again for sure.

Beautifully kept

This is a perfectly kept beautiful little cottage, which is ideal for your getaway. The host is amazing. Kind and anticipated your needs. Communication was exceptional, and amenities were thought of before the guest could even think that they needed them. Highly recommend.

Fall getaway

Very beautiful property with lots of amenities and not far from many things to see and do in Wisconsin or Minnesota. We chech out the towns of Spooner and Cumberlin very cool towns. And also took a day trip to the Mall of American. Hosts were amazing!

Fall Oasis

My husband, dear friend and I had a fabulous stay at River Ridge Cottage. The cottage was perfect for our needs and provided an absolutely beautiful setting for sitting outside and enjoying the weather and views of the river. It is close to town and all the area has to offer. We would definitely stay at the cottage again.

Spooner Getaway.

My wife and I have wanted to explore the Spooner area for a few years. The River Ridge cottage was a terrific home base to do just that. It’s a very clean, quiet, and super comfortable space not far from Spooner. We couldn’t be more pleased with our choice to stay at River Ridge and we plan to come back!

River Ridge Weekend

We spent a long weekend staying at River Ridge while attending a softball tournament in Shell Lake. The property is completely comfortable and beautiful. The hosts were excellent communicators. We loved that the property was quiet and relaxing but still close to Spooner and Shell Lake
