"The room & staff were fine. Not fine is that my receipt says we paid for a free breakfast as an "included amenity" when per the guests guide in the room that only applies to bookings from 2024. Worse, it's STILL shown as an included amenity on hotels.com, more than 1 year after it became no longer available. "Quite a good and decent and beautiful 4 star hotel. Service and staff were however far from being 4 star hotel. I had water run out in my bathroom while having shower, very laughable. Breakfast was incredibly poor and not representative of 4 star hotel."

"Our stay at the Lion was excellent. The only complaint was that the door to our room wouldn't lock, but other than that everything was great. I would definitely stay there again. Great location for shopping at Bicester Village and a short drive to Bleinheim Palace. "

"The dinner was expensive, service was good. The room was clean , tidy but the shower dribbled water out & toilet wouldn't flush properly. I think there's an issue with old plumbing. Gym was reasonable. Check out easy. "

"Dog friendly rooms are on ground floor. These aren't comparable to other standard rooms, but charged at same rate plus an additional £20 cleaning charge. Our room was basically furnished with painted plain MDF wardrobe in corner. Window was open in all these rooms presumably to help with smell. Carpets we're stained and smell was very noticeable when windows closed. Despite these comments to reception, we were still charged the additional cleaning fee."

"The Kings Arm was in such a good location in Woodstock within walking distance of all the shops and beautiful Blenheim Palace. It is nice to stay in such a historic pub and hotel, but as with many aged facilities there are some trade offs. The bed was very comfortable, but the room could get incredibly hot. The room is also quite tight for 2 travelers. The small shower needed servicing as the metal soap, shampoo holder was totally hanging off one side and also had poor drainage, once leaking...
