The DT by Hilton is an exceptional property. Our room was spacious with a wonderful ocean view and a couple of free water bottles every day to top it off. The room was clean and the cleaning service was excellent. We did have a bit of an ant problem but that was handled in a day. The infinity pool with the swim up bar was incredible. The staff was kind and courteous but there did seem to be a disconnect there. We arrived early morning, left our luggage and off to an excursion while waiting for check in time. We came back very tired. We were told that our room was ready but to wait for baggage help. We waited 15-20 minutes always being told help will be her in moments. It never came so I begged them to show us the room as I carried my bags. Similarly, our door lock was hit and miss to open. Mostly miss. It would often take up to 10 attempts before the door would open. Twice we were seen struggling by staff. We called the desk, went to the desk and the staff members said they would report immediately. It was days before the lock seemed to work correctly. I assume something was done. There was no communication. That’s why they lost that 5th star.
