I recently stayed at what was advertised as a 5-star hotel and, unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations. My partner and I were disappointed with both the cleanliness and the service provided.
Upon our arrival, we appreciated the welcome gesture of fresh fruit. However, our experience quickly took a turn when, during our unpacking, a staff member repeatedly knocked on our door despite us indicating we would answer shortly. This disruption was bothersome but not the main issue.
Later that evening, after a long day, we discovered hair and a brownish stain on the bed sheet when preparing for sleep. This was unacceptable. I attempted to contact Housekeeping and the Front Desk, but to no avail. Eventually, I reached out to Guest Relations, where I found the representative lacking in empathy and only offering a new bed sheet without an apology.
When a staff member finally arrived, he offered me the new sheet to change myself, as he had not been instructed to help further. I expressed my discomfort with the stain, emphasizing that any discoloration, especially brown, is completely unacceptable.
This experience on our first night significantly impacted our stay, and I hope the hotel can address these issues for future guests.
