Note that Mandalay is no city for pedestrians: no sidewalks and every time you cross a street you flip a coin for your integrity. Surroundings of this hotel are no exception to that."

Stores and restaurants were close so I could avoid the healthy taxi prices when I was hungry. The road is torn up in front of the hotel but I feel sure it will be reapaired eventually.
