Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham

The room was so humid that the floor was all wet by morning. I informed staff multiple times but they just asked to keep AC on all night. But it was on all the time. It was not addressed and I nearly slipped twice. The mirror light wasn’t working and wasn’t fixed for 5 days straight. Property has a private beach which is cleaned & maintained regularly - it was a bliss walking on the shore every evening away from the main city. The staff at seagull is very friendly, esp Siva who went out of his way to arrange a birthday cake for my mom without even asking. Pool was temporarily closed. Staff at the reception were always smiling & helpful, shoutout to Sefora. I felt breakfast was always at par but the lunch/dinner was just okay. Repeated options and sweets weren’t tasteful. The property is about 90 mins away from MAA airport. Hotel arranged 2 day trips for us with Tata Harrier - Pondicherry for ₹16K and Kanchipuram for ₹10K. First trip to Pondicherry was really awful and I regret going there. The driver refused to talk in English (despite being told to us that drivers are very friendly and can communicate in English/Hindi). The 1st day felt wasted and he was just driving in agony & frustration like he’s being forced to do it. However, 2nd day to Kanchipuram was excellent and the driver even took us to hidden spots/gems that were not even in the list. Overall the stay was just okay. A lot could’ve been improved and actioned on esp when I’m spending over ₹1.5L on the stay.

Wonderful stay

The property and amenities are good. Very family friendly. A key area for improvement is the restaurant - organisation of staff, timeliness and sequencing of food delivery. It was very busy during our stay, the dining experience could not cope with the volume of people.
