(Now with Central Air Conditioning! A very unique amenity in our mountain community but one that really makes for a comfortable stay on the 90 degree days which seem to be more common lately!)
This family-friendly, pet-friendly, beautiful, two-story home is located in popular Sierra Pines located a little more than a mile from the Village of Shaver Lake.
There are 4 bedrooms (sleeps 14 in beds plus 4 more in a convertible sofa and rollaway beds) and 3 full baths so there is plenty of room for large gatherings and year-round vacation. Along with a full two car garage to keep your vehicles out of the snow and pine needles, the main level features an open floor plan with walls of windows to enjoy the beautiful forest setting. Cozy up in front of the gas fireplace surrounded by a stone hearth. The kitchen is accented with beautiful knotty pine cabinets, granite countertops, and stainless steel appliances. It is fully outfitted for the chef complete with gourmet knife set, spices, small appliances and everything else you might need to prepare your favorite meals. Off the living room is a large private deck perfect for those summer BBQs. Propane BBQ is hooked up to the house for an endless supply of fuel.
The garage doubles as a 500sf game room complete with 55” TV, Blue-ray, internet video streaming, dart board and ping pong with many other games and activities to be added in the coming months. Living room has large flat screen TV with Blue-ray player and internet streaming. You can play music from your device through the sound system in both the Living Room and the Game Room. Broadband Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.
Downstairs there is a full bath near the living room. Upstairs you will find the luxurious Master Suite complete with large Jacuzzi tub along with 3 additional bedrooms and an additional full bath. All bathrooms are complete with granite countertops and knotty pine cabinetry. Our retreat comfortably sleeps 14 with convertible sofas and rollaway folding beds. Our “cabin” is prepared and ready for you to come visit and start enjoying the mountain air at Shaver Lake.
Shaver Lake has year-round activities. In the summer there is water skiing, wakeboarding, and sea-doos that can be rented at the Shaver Lake Marina. There are numerous other lakes, creeks, waterfalls, and hiking trails of all levels of intensity to suit everyone from the casual walker to the most aggressive mountaineer. In the winter there is world class snow skiing at China Peak/Sierra Summit. They have plenty of good quality gear for rent so you can leave the bulky equipment at home and come enjoy the best skiing for literally hundreds of miles.

A fantastic spot to book for a group trip - good for families with kids as well as friends that don't mind getting a little cozy with multiple beds in each room. It's only about a 5 minute drive away from Shaver Lake, and there plenty of amenities (ping pong table, board games, chairs to use for the lake, blankets/towels). Erich is super responsive if anything comes up. I think for the price point, it's very affordable for those looking for a short weekend getaway!

Amazing place to stay

Wonderful Stay in a Beautiful HomeThis home is beautiful and designed with great care and attention to detail. Every room is thoughtfully furnished and well-equipped, making it feel both comfortable and luxurious. It’s the perfect place for a large group, I believe it comfortably sleeps 14. Perfect Family Getaway – Clean, Cozy, and Full of Fun!

From the start, the host was incredibly communicative, respectful, and genuinely kind—super easy to talk to whenever we had questions. It really set the tone for a great stay. The cabin itself was spotless and beautifully maintained, with plenty of space for the whole family. We loved the ping pong table—it kept everyone entertained—and the variety of board games was perfect for winding down in the evenings. Everything felt cozy and welcoming, and it was clear that a lot of thought went into making the space comfortable for guests. We’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly getaway.

Relaxing Trip

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! Plenty of space for us. The kids enjoyed exploring around the area. It was a short, beautiful drive to the lake. I have to say, this cabin was one of the best stocked when it came to kitchen items. Made it easy to cook meals daily. It was also one of the cleanest; you would never know dogs have stayed here prior. We will definitely be back!

Nice cabin with good amenities and lots of bed space for a large group. Great price for a cabin rental in the area. Owner was super responsive on the phone and via text.

We had a great time! It’s a beautiful Cabin; clean and spacious. Beautiful views! Kids loved ping pong table in the garage. Had an issue with the upstairs shower. Host responded in a timely manner and settled the issue. Perfect location. Only minuets from shaver lake restaurants. Overall would definitely rent again.

Great Thanksgiving

We chose to have Thanksgiving as a family in the mountains this year and couldn't have picked a better location. Close to China Peak for skiing. The cabin lived up to its description and actually exceeded our expectations. Location was quite and Eric was a wonderful host, responded quickly to any questions we may have had. Will book again

Would do this again!

We loved our stay at Kings Cabin Mountain Retreat. Erich sent us directions before we arrived that was very easy to follow and took us straight to the cabin. The check in and check out process was very easy. The cabin was absolutely lovely and clean!!! I loved that there were directions and labels on certain things to provide guidance and directions because I had questions and they were answered without me having to reach out and bother Erich. We had 4 adults and 5 children and there was plenty of room for all of us. The only thing that I can say that was not great was the bunk beds. The kids said that the bunk beds squeaked a lot with each movement, so they did not sleep well at night, but other than that, everything else was wonderful. We would definitely do this again.

Work Home away from Home

Although I was alone for a month while working in the area, this cabin felt very homey and comfortable. Check in was very easy. Cabin was clean on arrival and well stocked with basic necessity's. Would most definitely stay here again.
