After a fabulous day in the Lost World, part of the Scenic Rim, it was time to head back to Brisbane, only an hour away. Decided to take the long way home via Wyarlong Dam. After a tumble getting to my vantage point (all good) it was waiting for the last cars to pass out of the area. @queensland
This is a magical place, with lots of waterfalls, trails, camping, and it's only a couple hours from the Gold Coast. It gets busy so book your camp spot here. http://www.nprsr.qld.gov.au/parks/lamington/about.html You can also stay at O'reilly's Rainforest Retreat, same area but really nice cabins!
One of many beautiful waterfalls in Lamington National Park.   This was taken late in the afternoon during a recent forest walk.  While I was shooting this scene the sun streamed some amazing light through the trees leaving a nice glow in the greenery around the falls.  This is nature at its best! #weekendgetaway #hiking #green
Box Log Falls is located only a ten minute hike from Elabana Falls on the Box Forest circuit in Lamington National Park and even though its only a short walk away, most people don't walk this far which is a shame really because they are missing out on one of the most beautiful falls on the circuit. I have visited this location on a couple of occasions however was never happy with the conditions, either the light wasn't right or there was too much water in the air that would get on the camera lens. On this occasion I arrived a bit later in the day with the sun lower in the sky and no wind around and finally got the shot I was after. Hope you all like it :) #weekendgetaway #hiking #green
