My stay was a respite from daily life, situated on a coastal bulff where the Tayrona river meets the sea. The sea was a little rough for normal beach activities but lying in a hamock listening to the waves crash and watching surfers was sooooo relaxing. The property is not super luxe but it is nicely finished and wel maintained and the staff are attentive and friendly. A great opportunity to practice Spanish since not a lot of English is spoken. The food was all freshly prepared to order and not surpringly featured fish and fresh fruits. We stayed in Room 4 in the back. No view but privacy including a dedicated Jacuzzi.
I had read about this lodge years ago and finally noticed availability so snatched a week during my recent visit to Colombia. The. highlght was after several trips down to the river, I finally saw a good sized crocodile in the water. when i went at low tide and the ocean waves were not disturbing the river.
There iwas a fair amount of on-going construction close by which we heard in the bsck so it wasn't quite as isloated as expected but still a great esacpe to nature.
