This hotel has a beautiful setting, but the experience is nowhere near five star. They lean on the Hilton brand, but the standards are not there. The first room was much smaller than advertised, badly designed, and the bathroom blind turned see-through at night with the light on, leaving no privacy. Even after paying for an upgrade, the balcony bath was overlooked from the restaurant above, WiFi barely worked, fridges never chilled, and music from a speaker overhead ran until 1–2am and restarted at 7am. Phones didn’t work as labelled, no guest info provided, no irons, and only steamers with nowhere to use them.
Half board was a disaster. All meals in one buffet, drinks not explained, wine bottles on ice implied inclusion but were charged, food poor, and on one night mains never arrived for many guests including us. We gave up and ate elsewhere. The beach club was the same: €65–100 minimum spend for loungers yet service so bad you had to chase staff for a drink.
Checkout was the final insult: refund mishandled, checkout delayed, the wrong card charged without authorisation, pre-authorisation left hanging, and refund pushed into Expedia’s system without telling me. Only discovered by chasing.
Some staff were excellent – pool bar team, housekeeping, front desk during the upgrade, and valet staff in particular. But overall this is three to four star service charging five star prices.
